Welcome to the tenth annual MangaHelpers Community Awards! These awards are dedicated to the members of MangaHelpers who have helped make MangaHelpers into what it is today.

The MangaHelpers Community Awards will use a polling system and feature various categories. All categories, however, will generally follow the system described below.

Part 1: Nomination

Nomination Round

  • Time: 8 days.
  • Each member nominates maximum three names for each category.
  • The nominees that are nominated will be regarded as official nominees for the voting rounds unless they wish to be excluded. Exclusion from the awards is only possible during the nomination round and at no later point. Furthermore, any exclusion counts for all categories.

Break for 1 day. The break can be used for the nominees to 'campaign' for themselves.

Part 2: Voting

Voting Round 1

  • Time: 6 days.
  • Members can vote for 4 names out of all nominees. If there are less than 4 nominees, this voting round is skipped for the respective category.
  • Only half of the current nominees (rounded up) will proceed to the next round.

Voting Round 2

  • Time: 6 days.
  • Members can vote for 2 names out of the remaining nominees. If there are less than 2 nominees, this voting round is skipped for the respective category.
  • Only half of the current nominees (rounded up) will proceed to the next round.

Voting Round Final

  • Time: 6 days.
  • Members can only vote for 1 name out of the remaining nominees.
  • In case of a tie for most votes, all tied nominees will be considered winners.

After each voting round, there will be a break for 1 day. The breaks can be used for the remaining nominees to 'campaign' for themselves.

The polling will follow the timeline below:

  • Nomination Round: September 26th - October 3rd, 2020
  • Break for Campaigns: October 4th, 2020
  • Voting Round 1: October 5th - October 10th, 2020
  • Break for Campaigns: October 11th, 2020
  • Voting Round 2: October 12th - October 17th, 2020
  • Break for Campaigns: October 18th, 2020
  • Voting Round Final: October 19th - October 24th, 2020
  • Winners Announced: October 25th - October 26th, 2020

Prizes given to you if you win the polling:

  • The winner (the first place; member with highest number of votes) will receive a badge as an award based on the category he/she wins.

About nominating:
You are allowed to nominate through private message (PM) too if you are shy to share your choice with the public. Feel free to send the staff looking after these categories a message about your nominations:

The rules are still the same: you can only nominate up to three members for each category. You can't send us another nomination via PM if you have already made three nominations in the thread.

Voting:
During the first round voting is publicly open (the votes are visible), for the subsequent rounds (second and final round) they are private. The votes for these can be seen after the polls have been closed.

What is a campaign?
In this event, you are allowed to campaign for yourself. You are allowed to encourage other members to nominate you during the nomination round or to vote for you during the voting round. However, there are certain things to note for this process.

  • All campaigns must be done publicly on the MangaHelpers website. You are not allowed to campaign via PM or external websites.
  • You are allowed to campaign for yourself in your own thread and the category threads. Campaign-related posts in the Fun Forum are allowed, but it is not allowed in other sections (non-spam sections), especially series discussion sections.
  • The method of campaigning should still follow the forum rules and etiquette.
