Shounen Matsuri Special by Kamio Youko

Another new series from Jump Square - Matsuri by Kamio Youko of the famous Hana Yori Dango and Cat Street. Check out this new shonen-based series at the RTS here and discuss what you think about her try at shonen or how the story goes.

While waiting for a translation and Edited Manga, the story gist is basically about a girl who does wrestling for competition and about her crush?!

LOL, wrestling. Was NOT expecting that.

As I said in the other thread, it's pretty similar to Hana Yori Dango so far. Hopefully Kamio will mix things up a bit.

Actually, I wasn't expecting Kamio to do something that would be serialized in SJ SQ. That's neat. I like seeing crossovers of traditionally shoujo mangakas into a different arena.

Wow no way. I just read the first chapter. It's really interesting. I never expected that she writes this kind of manga. The character Matsuri can be a total girl and a total guyish-girl the next moment. When she tossed those guys I was like .... "WHOA!" lolz

Hah! The later chapters seem to be funnier, esp, when she wears her mask, it just makes me laugh for some strange reason. What a total change from Cat Street

Well, good thing she isn't doing any wrestling, otherwise she'll be REALLY distracted.

Another thing I looking forward to is Shigematsu and Wataru clashing it out when they see each other at the match.

Ermmm... You do realize that Wrestling IS originally a Greek sport? then of course, Masked-Wresting is more of a Mexican origin, so there really isn't anything american about pro wrestling at all IMHO if you ask me.

Well, I think what will be the most distracting to Matsuri is if Wataru shows up with the Power Ranger Mask. LOL~!

any fears about Wataru further distracting Matsuri are unfounded, because she apparently fights BETTER when he's in the audience though it's unclear if it's just a fluke born out of her desperation to not be unmasked.

Agreed. This could easily become one of the most popular SQ series about if it's colour count and support indicates anything.
