Pimpin' Yuna Signature Tutorial - detailed!

This is the tutorial for this sig:

I made it as detailed as possible so it's hopefully also good for n00bs.

Please note that I have the German version of Photoshop so I wasn't quite sure about the names of some filters.
If you know please tell me and I will correct it in my tut.

What do you need:
- Splatter Brush
- C4D Render
The rest is default.

About Step 1 (yes, i'm stuck at step 1):-

1) What is a 'stock'? Is it just any old picture or does it have to be in a certain format?
2) How do I 'cut' it out?

Step 2: -
1) What is a render/what does to 'rend' mean?

1) a stock is the picture of the character you want to have in your sig. Like in my exampe: Yuna
2) This isn't included in my tutorial because I hate cutting out stuff.
Go here and get your cut out stuff (the site is down often though).

There are several ways to do it.
a. magic wand tool
1.select magic wand tool
2.select area you want to take out
3.press backspace to delete(if you get select some that you dont want mess around with a the tolerance levels)
b. polygon lasso tool or pen tool
Zoom in all the way (1600%)
Take out the polygonal lasso tool
Outline your render with the lasso
When finished, right cick and choose "Layer via copy"
Make the first layer invisible, the make a new layer and fill it with a dark color (This allows you to see any mistakes you made)
If it looks okay, your done. If you can see chunks of background still there, use the eraser tool to get rid of them.

arcosoft photostudio: I don't know it - you can try to follow the tut with it but I don't know if it works.

Thanks Miso! i doubt i'll be able to get it looking as good as yours...but thanks to your tut, I finally have some idea of how to make a sig!
