Miscellaneous Question: do i need to buy RAW Manga if ever i will scanlate?

hi! i am just new here.. i am planning also to scanlate a certain manga ^^ i just have these few questions in my mind and makes me worried..

1. do i need to buy the RAW manga in order to scanlate?
2. i just get these RAW manga online from a site, will they accused me from stealing it? or i will just gave credits to them as my sign of thankfullnes and appreciation?

No, you don't have to buy them to scanlate, if you can get any of the RAWs online. Most of the Manga Editors here also don't buy their own SJ or any other magazines. At MangaHelpers, most of the Shounen Jump RAWs, you can get them inside the Downloads & Releases board. We also have the Weekly Jump Scan Dump! for other RAWs in SJ that are not made into RTS. If you need RAWs and can't find it anywhere, feel free to make a request inside the RAW Request Thread.

But, you can support the author/mangaka of the series you scanlate by buying the original volumes when they are out in the market.

It depends on where you get the RAWs. Some of the groups disallow other people to alter their RAWs/Releases. Some are not available for Edited Mangas. Try to search for the info on their websites, if they stated anything about it. If not, you can try to ask the people there. But some others don't mind at all if you use their RAWs.

But if they allow it and you do use it, please mention them in the credits ^^

No one ever authorize to use their release (that is what i call a Edited Manga).. And usually groups dont give out their high quality raw ^^"...
What we usually call steal, is whenever you use someone else's Edited Mangas, change a few things here and there and call it your own..
One exemple of stealing is whenever someone uses chinese Edited Manga (Jojo's; please dont call that raw, it is a chinese Edited Manga) to do his own Edited Manga in english (I shall also remind you that Jojo doesnt allow us to use, or post their Edited Mangas anywhere O.o).
Stealing, is, of course, forbidden on mangahelpers

But usually the raws that are posted here, on mangahelpers, are (unless mentionned otherwise) authorized for Edited Mangas.
However, it is still true that whenever the name of the guy who scanned the raw is mentionned, you need to put his name in the credits of your Edited Mangas as the raw provider

ahmm... how about the gocomic.com/ sky-fire.com ?? does this site doesn't allow anyone to use their chinese Edited Manga to use into another Edited Manga(different language), eventhough the Edited Manga group will give credits to them?

ahm.. i can't read their site because i can't understand chinese. i have seen their Edited Manga through a direct link

please anyone? help me
