Also like to know how to straighten the borders and how to use the lasso-tool cuz I just can't get some straight lines with that thing (maybe not the purpose of that thing =P). People use it to draw lines for the borders but I don't know how they do that.

Hello and thank you for taking the basic cleaning challenge #1. First off you did a pretty job. The blacks are mostly filled in and whites are mostly cleaned of dirt.

Some areas to work on...

Make sure and fill in the blacks all the way to the edges. I marked a couple of areas in the blacks on panel 3 to show spots that didn't get fully filled in.

Panel 7 has some dirt in the whites both inside in the panel and outside the panel. Also in that panel the symbol on the headband has broken and faded lines that should be fixed and the right eye needs some filling in of the blacks.

Your method for doing the text bubbles has left the text bubbles extending outside of the panels borders as I marked in panel 4. This is incorrect unless that is how it appears on the raw and in this case it doesn't.

Your white detail lines look very hand drawn. It is best to use the pentool and stroke the path for long flowing lines.

You already mentioned that you weren't sure how to do the borders. I have a tutorial on how to do borders in the tutorial section and I linked to it in the instructions for this challenge. Personally I don't use the lasso tool. I found it difficult to be exact with it. I use the pencil tool and redraw all the borders. Sometimes this means I have to draw through some pixels in the panels and eliminate them from the page the trick is to line things up so that you lose the least amount of pixels possible.

Here is an image with a few of the items I mentioned hightlighted for you. Red are areas of black and blue are areas of white.

In addition to what Allashandra said, the page is also rather bluury, probably due to rotating and use of 3px black brush.

ok ty so much for your critics, helps a lot^^. And I thnk the bubbles overlapped becuz it's my top layer. Or it could be that the lines were a bit too thick :amuse

Yeah, it looks like it's because your bubbles are a layer above your frames. I always keep my panel frames layer over my bubbles layer. If you ever have a bubble that needs to overlap a frame I usually just make a new layer all together for it.

Personally I always like to keep my "clean whites" layer as my top layer.
