To maximise hunters' ability to participate properly (and staff being at hand), the hunt will run from Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th June.

For this event, there will be 50 treasure items, which are spread across 4 rounds, increasing in difficulty per day; from Easy to Extreme.

The aim of the game is to find as many of the treasure items spread throughout the forum as possible, within the allocated time. It will work as a mixture of both the Easter Egg Hunt and the previous Scavenger Hunts. Think of the Blitz round from 2017 but 4 days of it. A comprehensive breakdown will be given below.

There will be no mid-way entries once the game starts. This will be explained below in the "Breakdown of Each Day".

You have to be logged in to play the game. You will not be able to find the treasure items unless you are logged into your account, even if you are in the right thread.

How to Play

At the start of each round, there'll be a floating notice linking to the post with the Day/Rounds riddles. The post will contain a 24h countdown as well as that round's riddles. Please also subscribe to/watch the thread to avoid any potential issues.

Treasure Items and Points:

The breakdown of treasure items, points and number of riddles are as follows:

Hints:

As you can see there are point deductions for requesting hints for riddles, so please make sure you've exhausted all efforts before requesting one. Only ONE hint will be given PER RIDDLE.

As we can't automate responses, all requests will be done manually. To request a hint, please one of the following staff members:

In the event the names mentioned don't appear online, you can PM any members of the team that appear online and they will supply you with the hint you need. Please send the PM in the following format:

Solving a riddle and scoring/submitting answers:

When you find a treasure item (with or without a hint), you can send the link to the post to a staff member. And we'll update this thread to confirm which treasure item has been found, like this:

An item has been found! [insert treasure item]

Riddle [#] for Day [#] has been solved by [username/ group name]

We'll keep a tally of hint requests so we can adjust points accordingly on the leaderboard. The leaderboard will be posted twice; at the beginning of Day 2 and the end of Day 3, before final results are shown.

A Breakdown of Each Day:

There'll be no extensive breaks, the rounds will begin at our earliest convenience, after the previous round's countdown as expired. Again, you'll receive notifications and the countdown clock will reset for another 24 hours.

This is how the hunt will work from day to day:

At the start of Day 1, the 20 riddles will be posted in 2 parts, after 6-12 hour intervals. This will depend on how quickly the riddles are solved. A countdown clock with the clues will be posted in the GAME THREAD (this thread) and pinned to the top of the thread.
Once the countdown clock reaches zero, Day 1 will be over and Day 2 will begin shortly after. Day 1 treasure items can still be submitted but value will be reduced (i.e 5pts to 3pts).
For Day 2, the first 10 riddles will be posted and then after 6-12 hours, the remaining 5 will be posted; in exactly the same format as above.
At the end of Day 2, all teams will be split up. Your current total at the end of that day will be duplicated and that's the number of points you'll start off with (i.e If Team A (3 hunters) have 37points, then at the start of Day 3, all 3 players will start individually with 37 points on the leaderboard).
As Day 3 begins, all 10 riddles will be posted at once and hunters will again have 24h to find all 10 treasure items.
ALL treasure items for Day 1 will be removed. Day 2 treasure items can still be submitted but value is reduced (i.e 10pts to 7pts).
The final day will also run as previous rounds. All 5 riddles will be posted at the same time and hunters will have 24 hours to find as many as possible and submit them to the team.
Day 2 treasure items will be removed from their posts. Day 3 items can still be submitted but their value is lowered to a third (i.e 15pts to 10pts).

Once the final day is over. We'll do a final tally and then announce the results.

At no point is it acceptable to provide assistance to other players/teams. Any participants found doing so will be disqualified. Forum Rules and General Etiquette still applies.
