Yay for Erina re-appearance! The new chapter is priceless with the sumo reactions. Agreed that the Mangaka basically trying to tease us with naked men over the last chapters. I think Erina would be developed as some sort of Tsundere character - probably. It goes without saying that Soma would face her again since he's intending to defeat all of the top seats, can't wait for that.

Man, caught up on this post-holiday, and Isshiki is just about my favourite character next to Tadokoro.

It's odd to think I wasn't hot on this for the first chapter or two, it's such a sheer joy to read now.

So, we won't just have Erina but also her posse which consists of, well, teenage bitches? Bring it on. I like how the story is flowing but I wouldn't mind having a breathe-in chapters where there are actual high school comedy like in class and stuff. Maybe we'll have that the next chapter since there's still 3 days before the shokugeki.

I already said it but I can't help it, Soma was built as a great and very likeable shounen hero.

I dont' think we'll have normal high school classes. It's a trade school, an evidently self-sustained and self-regulated one at that, so it's probably all cooking all the time.

Why is that girl wearing an American flag bra? If she were just another American themed American it would make sense. Racist sense, but sense nonetheless.

EDIT:wait, this is substanceless, let's go into this a bit. Tanned girls are always cool, and (wait, no, start again) Gyaru's a pretty cool choice of design, and as we all know immediately explains the USA bra, because it's all got a connection to US hip-hop culture, though usually filtered through the whole school uniform dealie. So it's cool. And totally suited to a sexy series like Soma.

... No, that didn't help me much.

A plus point for Ashita No Joe reference. Didn't think I'd see such reference in a cooking manga, to be honest.

I bet the story would continue this way, at least before it's consistently ranked among the top rank. I predict that at least breathe-in chapters wouldn't exist before this Manga reaches 20-30 chapters or so, somehow. I'm also hoping for the same, even though I tend to think that we would directly proceed to battle between Ikumi and Soma by next chapter. It is highly likely that the next chapter covers as a "preparation" chapter, but probably not a "high school comedy".

Ha, I think the artist was trying to imply that girl is a Gyaru, and also because of her specialty is related to meat dishes is one way or another connected to American stereotypes. Lame stereotype, but still inoffensive to be a disturbance.

I also thought that the flag was related to her cooking speciality. What other country do you think of when you read 'meat' :-)

Even if the food challenge will be the core of this manga, I hope that we will also have some arc where Souma will improve his cooking skill. After all that's why he came in this school in the first place. So far his genius was displayed quite well but that can't continue for ever.

Don't like Ikumi's design, a tie around her leg, really... and her body is deformed in this picture, the hip to stomach diameter difference s disturbingly big.

But she's the master of meat, so she's got to show some meat too, you understand? Souma's condition to let her joing the Don RS is great, I wonder if the focus will be kept there or if he changes clubs every couple of chapters.

As a purveyor of chunky hips I can get behind it, even if it's ridiculous.

The series is sitting tidy at the no.3 spot in the TOC this week, which might not have been the case if One Piece were there, but I think we can confidently call this a hit, even this early in.

A nice transition chapter. I can't complain since last time I said I would like to see Souma struggling a bit more with his cooking.
And the arrow on the sempai's hair were already funny but I never would have imagined a bandage on them :-)

This chapter had the most detailed explanation regarding dish preparation than any before it, so much that I think I could try to make that steak IRL. As a result, they skimped on the reactions/service in this chapter, but I'm not too disappointed. I look forward this super onion sauce

I liked the reaction, it was so pure and light (fluffy, even), that it worked. I can see it working to get Tadokoro some attention as the pure-hearted dark haired girl of the title.

I end up liking this manga a lot, so I end up finding the oneshot and read it.

I really hope for more Erina x Souma moment. They're awesome.

In this picture, do people think the shadow of the 10 elite are accurate? I'm guessing Erina probably replaced the guy that got defeated in the oneshot. The guy in the right middle can pass as no 7.

So yeah, as I predicted, this chapter is going to be a "preparation for battle" chapter. A nice one since the technical details are a tad more comprehensive this time, compared to the previous battles. The dish picture is also looking more detailed than ever, I really like it.

Ahaha, Nikumi whips out super high grade A5 meat, and starts tendering it right
at the match.
Then Soma whips out a supermarket cheap beef with Half-price
off sticker still on it. LOL.

The Shokugeki match is like a wrestling match, complete with raving spectators.
Spectators cheer on for Ikumi, but boo Soma. Erina is watching the fight from a VIP seat.

Soma already managed to um.... turn on
Nikumi just from the aroma stemming from his frying pan cooking the meat.

Apparently cute. Can't wait to see it.

So I'm not sure we will have the climax of the battle immediatley but I can't wait to see the half price picture and the face of Mito when she sees it.

Very glad to see that Soma is starting to get the early spoilers id deserves also can't wait to see the half price tag picture and hope this will not conclude in 1 chapter just to see what kind of a climax the author could create in the middle of such battle.

Souma's meat had it's price cut, hilarious. His don is so awesome Mito had a foodgasm just from the smell. Next week will probably be reactions galore, then the judge results the week after.
