Certainly feels like theres been a resurgance in shoujo anime, guess it's combining with the recent trend of bringing back classics as well.

Yeah both plus many romances and slices of life that get great reception. Also in many people minds, romance = shojo. And plenty of shonen or seinen Romancesd/slices of life are mistakenly assumed to be shojo ( Skip to loafer, Insomniacs after school, Sono bisque etc.)
