The Nintendo Wii/DS friend code exange extravaganza!

(yes, I happen to have a thing for unnecessary long thread names...)

Soo, this is where people can post up their friend codes for either the Wii or the DS. That way, people (that have wireless connections somewhere) can add eachother, and play games with eachother, chat, send pictures, etc, etc...


note: There aren't currently any games for the Wii that supports online play, but they are bound to come. In the meantime, we can still mail back and forth, and create a network of Mii's that will be transfered to others.


To add someone as your friend on the Wii, simply go to "my messages" - "create message" - then add them in the address book. =)

As I have understood it, both people will need to have eachother added in the Wii address book, before Miis can be transfered. Any Miis you wanna let other people see must be set to "mingle".

To send a mail to a Wii console, simply put "w<yournumberhere>@wii.com". The easier way to do it (so many numbers to type x__x), is to first send a mail from the console, so that you have something to reply to..



I do not own a DS myself, so I am unfamiliar with the routines off adding eachother. Can somebody else provide some input?

Well, since the Friend Code function and Wi-Fi play in general weren't added to the DS's functions at the release, there's no general way to add and manage friend codes, it's embedded in the software for the games using the WiFi abilities of the DS, so it might differ from game to game, as far as i know (i've only got one online game as of now, been a bit low on money ).

Mario Kart DS: Select Nintendo WFC in the main menu, then select Friend Code. You'll get two options; Register (other people's friend codes) and Confirm (see your own code, i believe you need to play online at least once to get this option though...). Just enter the code in the Register part, and you'll be able to play other people by selecting "Friends" for your range of enemies in the WiFi match (as opposed to "worldwide", "europe", or whatever it normally allows you to chose).

My Nintendo DS friend code is 249168025035, but if you want to play me, pm me in advance to set something up, i don't normally go online with it, unless i have a set opponent. I once got my ass kicked by Yumee for example. ( though i would've won that second match if the power didn't fail, i already saw the finish line! ) =/

I still don't have a Wii, i've got the money ready, and check the stores every now and then, but it's still really hard to get your hands on a copy here... So i'll add that one later.
