Discussion The Ten Wizard Saints

So far in the current arc it is evident that the Ten Wizard Saints are powerless when put in front of Spriggan. Mainly because from what we have heard, the former Highest Rank God of Ishgal is said to be on par with the rest of the Spriggans and that Wizard Saint left the Ishgal forces and moved to Alavarez to join the Spriggan 12. I was wondering on your guys' thoughts on whether the Wizard Saints will actually make a major difference in the war and whether or not they as collective force will be able to handle more than two Spriggans (because I feel as all of them as a group should at minimum be able to deal with two Spriggans). I do really hope that they actually do have a large effect on the war because otherwise the hype we have had during the whole series would have been put to shame.

Aside from Warrod, I expect Wolfhiem and Hyberion to actually fight a Spriggan each. They will make a difference individually but I expect some teams to be formed too(like Wolfhiem and Elfman). It's not that the criteria for their rankings are entirely given on the basis of strength alone. Warrod mentioned that there were stronger mages than him but he was holding the 4th position out of respect. So yeah, you can expect them to play a pivotal role in the arc.

Having a tree grow thousands of kilometers as transport for the Fairies was no mean feat, so surely he has some power there he was hiding from them.

It would be nice to see the Strauss siblings actually have a father and maybe even a mentor of some kind in the future. I can imagine them all taking on their own Spriggan (hopefully one of the stronger ones). I also think that Warrod was being modest because even Erza in the past agreed that she thought he was being modest. He probably will clean up a Spriggan possibly with help from someone else (speculation).

Yeah it's annoying that all we have at the moment is Makarov, Warrod, Wolfheim, Hyperbion and Jura.

This pure speculation but since the article mentioned each King protecting their own direction, if God Serena were to defend Ishgal, each of the Gods of Ishgal may take their separate direction and help the rest. (assuming that the 3 Gods are confronted by God Serena in their current position)

It doesn't seem like most of those guys relate to what we have seen. It would also depend on whether jura would be based on one of those guys. Anyways, this is what we know about each of the 4 (5 with serena):

Serena: Flamboyant mostly. Nothing about his magic
hybereion: Drinks milk, looks like a vampire.
Wolfheim: Little man who seems to use something like elfman's takeover. Short tempered
Warrod: Plant user. Former fairy.
Jura: Earth user.

Does that mean there is a different Wizard Saint as a replacement or does it hint that God Serena is infact on Fiore's side?

To be fair Mavis would not be the person who decides anything about Heavenly Kings or Wizard Saints. However I do believe it is implied by Mavis that those three are different from Jura.

If there are 3 Spriggans coming from the east, then it seems that the power of 3 Spriggan might be comparable to 3 Heavenly kings + Jura. I was actually thinking 3 Heavenly kings could get taken out by 2 Spriggan level characters.

One thing I was wondering on (in terms of speculation) was whether or not each Wizard Saint had a big difference in power. For example, whether there was a big difference in power from God Serena and Hyperbion. Because if there isn't a large difference in power and if their power was quite similar, that would be that Hyperbion could most likely be able to 1 vs 1 a Spriggan. At this point we all need to keep in mind though, that this is still speculation.

Nobody can say for sure at this point. We'll find out soon enough, but in my opinion, there aren't big power gaps once you reach the 4 Gods of Ishgar. From Jura to Warrod, maybe there is a significant power gap, but I'd say the 4 Gods are roughly equal with each slightly more powerful as the ranking goes up.

Neither Hyberion or Wolfheim seem that afraid of God Serena, so I'm betting that both Hyberion and Wolfheim plan to take down God Serena themselves. I'm certain that Hyberion and Wolfheim are both capable of soloing a Spriggan otherwise Ishgar is ultimately f*cked. If one of the strongest wizards in the continent couldn't defeat 1 Spriggan, then Ishgar is fated to lose.

If God Serena's power does actually indeed exceed Hyberion and Wolfheim by a significant margin, it'd be dumb not to bring in the rest of the TWS.

I expect that in the east we'll see the gods of ishgar + jura fight fodder at first before God Serena shows up. After that they have to go through two more Spriggan, and I'd say they'd be ones that haven't been named.

Yeah my bad I thought it was the west xD but I think that there isn't going to be much fodder for them because I think that most of the fodder is with Zeref.

There should be plenty of fodder. Zeref's army has a solid 1000000 people. Other than august and zeref it shouldn't make much of a difference which springan they face at this point. They were all supposed to be comparable to god serena and we saw the extent of power it took to barely defeat one just now. The 10 wizard saints have their work cut out for them...

Based on the latest chapter , I have the feeling that some of the spriggan's may turn to the good side [ idk if its gonna be before or after the arc ] , cause even Invel [ who is a zeref fanboy] seems to be a bit suprised about the Zeref = Emp. Spriggan thing . So , it could be possible that they decide to leave zeref's side .
If that happen's before they get a fight [which i GUESS will happen with brandish ] , then clearly fairies > spriggans [ in terms of manpower ] . So they will be pairing up for the fights , even the saints .
I honestly feel like Serena is still good and is a spy just like Mest . So idk he will fight the saints ,[ even if they do fight , it might be a fake one [just to make the spriggans believe ] ] . It's highly unlikely that this happen's though..

It would be quite a pair if Draculos Hyberion uses Vampire take-over with Wolfheim as the werewolf.

I have read that Hyperion is a greek deity of the Sun so maybe he uses something a kin to the sun.
