My own thread for a newbie translator sounds somewhat outlandish!
But I've gotten a few translating requests, so I thought something about me might help you when you are requesting translations from me.
1) I am Japanese but I live in US. But I'm married to a Canadian.
2) I have a Monday-Friday, 9-5 job. I'm a "Lee-man" (salary-man) .. well, a female Lee-man.
3) I did not go to a Japanese school in Japan - went to an American school in Japan, went to college here in the US, got a job here.
4) Typcial 10-24 page weekly manga episode will take me about 15-20 minutes for a rough, then maybe another 5-10 minutes to run it through grammer check and spelling check (although I still miss some).
5) I am terribly picky about my manga and what I translate, because I'd like to enjoy what I'm working on as well - since I'm essentially doing it for the fun of it.
Available for:
D. Gray-Man (Manga, Anthology & Novels)
Hellsing (Manga Only - don't have DVDs - Ill do them if you send me)
XXXholic**
Prince of Tennis*
Bastard!*
Five Star Stories**
...and a few oldies, like Captain Tsubasa*, Hono no Tenkousei*, Hokuto no Ken*.
...and all of Shimizu Reiko manga*
Some Game Anthology Mangas, like FF, Basara.*
No BL or Yaoi please
Yep, even for D. Gray. It's not fun translating scenes where Kanda @##$%@#*$&%s Allen. Or Lavi and Kanda, or Cross and Allen or ...you get the idea
I'll amend the list if I come up with any others, but essentially that's pretty much it. I'm sorry if I did not include the mangas you may have requested
I'm just not that into them ; ;
* - means you must provide with RAWs because I left the mangas in my home in Japan.
** - means I have partial collection
