My own thread for a newbie translator sounds somewhat outlandish!

But I've gotten a few translating requests, so I thought something about me might help you when you are requesting translations from me.

1) I am Japanese but I live in US. But I'm married to a Canadian.

2) I have a Monday-Friday, 9-5 job. I'm a "Lee-man" (salary-man) .. well, a female Lee-man.

3) I did not go to a Japanese school in Japan - went to an American school in Japan, went to college here in the US, got a job here.

4) Typcial 10-24 page weekly manga episode will take me about 15-20 minutes for a rough, then maybe another 5-10 minutes to run it through grammer check and spelling check (although I still miss some).

5) I am terribly picky about my manga and what I translate, because I'd like to enjoy what I'm working on as well - since I'm essentially doing it for the fun of it.

Available for:
D. Gray-Man (Manga, Anthology & Novels)
Hellsing (Manga Only - don't have DVDs - Ill do them if you send me)
XXXholic**
Prince of Tennis*
Bastard!*
Five Star Stories**
...and a few oldies, like Captain Tsubasa*, Hono no Tenkousei*, Hokuto no Ken*.
...and all of Shimizu Reiko manga*
Some Game Anthology Mangas, like FF, Basara.*

No BL or Yaoi please :p Yep, even for D. Gray. It's not fun translating scenes where Kanda @##$%@#*$&%s Allen. Or Lavi and Kanda, or Cross and Allen or ...you get the idea :blink

I'll amend the list if I come up with any others, but essentially that's pretty much it. I'm sorry if I did not include the mangas you may have requested :darn I'm just not that into them ; ;

* - means you must provide with RAWs because I left the mangas in my home in Japan.
** - means I have partial collection

Hey welcome uchipu, okay maybe a bit late because at least all dgm fans should already knew you. And I think its okay to only translate what you like...otherwise it just gets boring and annoying. I think you're pretty fast at translation, I really thought it would take longer for you to translate a chapter.

Is there a special reason why you didnt go a japanese school in japan?
Would you rather like to live in japan instead of america?
How old are you xDDDDD?

For the start :)

And a bi thanks for your translations :)

Rofl, finally another person who likes Bastard!!, you have my love.

*glances at first 22 volumes stacked around desk*

I would see if I could get you to work on translating all 22 with me, (you would probably translate faster/better), but I don't have the RAWs on me. I'm sure 22 or so volumes are at #lurk though. I have a volume 23 RAW, and still trying to find the elusive volume 24 RAW floating around out there somewhere.

Anyway, Bastard!! is awesome, and felt like sharing some love for that. Welcome to MH and stuff.

Hi there!

Is there a special reason why you didnt go a japanese school in japan?

My father was on assignment from Japan to work in the US from his company when I started elementary school. By the time his assignment was over, I was grade 3. Because I did not go to a Japanese school in the US, I had already lost the college entrance exam race. So, instead of leading the life of third-rate college graduate, I decided to go with English. :)

Would you rather like to live in japan instead of america?

Depends...I love Japanese food (naturally), sake, and culture, but I don't think I can work in Japan at a meaningful job because I am female. I don't quite want to exchange my six figure salary for a life of a house-wife LOL

How old are you xDDDDD?

hmmm...I played FF1 on Nintendo in Japan.

Bastard Translations

oO; Please be reasonable. I have a pretty hectic life, so to ask for 1-24 tranlation, I would need quite amount of time. I already to D. Gray on regular basis, and am picking up translation of entire Vol 8.

I don't have any Bastard volumes at home, since I essentially stopped reading it at Vol 10. I think the quality of the story really went south after that point, and now resembles soft porn.

If you post it somewhere, I will slowly work on it, but I cannot give you a time frame at this current moment. If that is agreeable, please let me know :amuse

Belated welcome to MH, Uchipu. :)

Glad to have another translator willing to do D. Gray Man and Prince of Tennis here, I think we needed one.

Looking forward to your work!
