Imahori's style is a bit limited due to being primarily a guitarist, but he still manages amages to make these very complete soundtracks with his guitar compositions. Trigun and Gungrave have OST's that fit the series perfectly. He's an HM though bc of that little limitation to what he can, or at least has accomplished sonically.

5 Centimeters Per Second has been on all my music lists so far, truly one of the prettiest soundtracks in anime imo, so leaving Tenmon off the list didn't sit quite right... still, his problem is a bit the same as Imahori, he doesn't expand his sound much and while that still works perfectly for most of Makoto Shinkai's films (for which he composed most OST's), it's still enough to place him slightly below the 10 I finally nominated.

Oh an Yuji Ohno is legendary for Lupin and Cobra, but besides finding those soundtracks great while watching, I don't have a personal connection connection his music really, never really listened to it outside of the series themselves.

Wonder if those are my only HM's who didn't make the final list, I'd be pleasantly surprised if that's so.

Btw @Organizized have you watched Odd Taxi, I think it's your style of stuff ?

opening is really cool and musical atmosphere was great (Ost composer(s) is/are not in my list since I just completed it) . The anime is very good too, dialogues are exquisite and final episode/scene somehow shocking ( dont judge by the cover)

I had it recommended to me as well. A bit bothered by the animal-style but may give it a chance when I‘m done with current watchings.

Yeah, the furry aspect kinda hindered the demographics reached. Especially when it aired between Seasons 1 and 2 Beastars - lots of people assumed it was just kinda riding on Beastars' steam, but it really was a well realized story itself.

I'm on the train now, cursing the fact I forgot my headphones so I could listen the HMs.

I'm too old to just blast away from my phone on public.

I was too, at 1st. but there's an explanation to that, just watch till the end. It's actually different from other animal characters animes/manga, I guess.
But yeah it might make people reluctant. pretty much like Ousama Ranking "childish" style design.

I gave mabanua a HM because I have only listed to Megalo Box's OST. Apparently he didn't work on many series anyway. But his work is amazing!
