Interim round 58 - Top 10 Geniuses- Smartest characters - Afterword

First of all, huge thanks to everyone who joined, i had a wondeful time reading all your lists and getting more about your taste, and interacting with you, it was a fantastic experience to me, and i hope you enjoyed it as much as i did ! Again many thanks to all of you !

Format

I havent underestimated the time it would take me to work on it, that is the reason why i have waited a couple of months before doing it, once i knew i would have some time for it. I haven't understimated the number of characters i would probably get in the list, i have estimated between 120 and 200/210 depending on participation, including HM, i got 180.

Regarding the format i used, i have been working on it before the game started, i ve been trying various things with my own list, i intended at first to add manga panels, or other medias but i realized i would be really complicated because characters and/or differents works have not the same exposure. For some characters there is almost nothing available. I wanted to treat each character nominated the same way, whether it's a side character from a non popular work, or a main character from the biggest mainstream works, and I ended up opting for one and only one pic for each. Pics I used were mainly fanarts, sometimes it is official art or cover (like Usogui's pics, for exemple, were from manga volumes covers) i cropped/resized them and added various effect and a frame on every single of them. For some of them it might be subtle for others, its more visible.

Average time to edit one pic is around 15/20min not counting art searching time, it took me probably around 60 or more hours to work on them, i started in advance, though, preparing the ones of my own list and anticipated some characters i knew they will made it in the top, like Lelouch, Conan, Near etc. I had a lot of fun doing that, i didnt regret a single second i spent on it, and i hope you enjoyed the format, i hope you didnt found it too empty, or too boring, i will probably stick with this format for the next tops 10 planned. I gave up writing anything about characters, it's too tricky when you dont know the character or the manga/anime when (s)he is from, it works with characters you know only. Tracks i added were just an additional flavor, i went for the most iconic/impactful ones and if possible ones linked with one of the character featured in the rank.

Ranking

I hope you are all satisfied with the results, there were some very expected results, but some unexpected ones too. The most unexpected thing was for me Griffith not being ranked at all. From the very little i know about him, i assumed he was a genius that would be a very popular pick, iwas wrong. Im surprised noone nominated this guy :arf

There is no female ranked in top 10, and the highest ranked one is Khun Aguero at rank 15. That is pretty sad. The topic has been mentioned in discussion, so i wanted to check and i realized that there 's only 37 females nominated ( that's irrelelevant considering there are characters im not even sure about their gender like Zoe (SNK) or Klim (Ithought it was a female, but i saw someone refering the character as a "he" ) and who knows, maybe Vegapunk is a lady :teehee
