Nnoitra is out earlier than I expected....

I didn't expect much from them and I didn't want too much from them...
I'd rather that the manga was shorter and Kubo hadn't wasted time writing nonsense story arcs that just took up time and [as expected] had no real relevance to the manga, as a whole

They were mostly a plot device to help Ichigo regain their powers, which is something they achieved. Actually think they were more interesting than the Bount

For the ones with Bankai at least. But even with this + Mask they didn't seem very impressive compared to some of the strongest Captains.

Ah, now that is a notion I agree with
We only ever saw three Vizards Bankai. Was always a bit bummed out we never saw Hirako's.

Seeing these Bleach pics makes me strangely nostalgic...

Yumichika almost made my list. But his "I don't want to reveal my power because I am part of the 11th Division" always annoyed me.

Keigo was underutilized. Him and Tatsuki were two characters I always wanted to be more involved than they were. Always felt like if they had manifested powers early like Chad and Orihime we'd have ended up with something a lot cooler in the non-soul society supporting cast. Kubo did keep them involved but always on the outside looking in.

As for the Vizards, they were pretty great when they were introduced but they always felt to me like a fragment of an idea that Kubo abandoned. I always thought the Hueco Mundo arc was going to lead deeper into Hollow territory, learning more about humanoid hollows, and that's where we'd see the Vizards masked power set expanded but... we got Quincy's instead. Hurray.

Because the Vizards are honestly the most disappointing group of characters Kubo had in Bleach. Only Hirako ever did something significant. The others all ended up fodder for Aizen + fodder for the Quincy.

To me, I think the the Zero Squad members were way more disappointing. At least the Vizard were unique.

Thier training sequence was also extremely awesome. I mean, it was pretty similar to the Urahara one pre-soul society arc but it was such a cool sequence of chapters. With the whole barrier, time limit, and everything.

The Visored, unfortunately, are just a group that got lost in the shuffle. They were, let's say, accessories to basically spruce up the conflict with Aizen. But after that was solved...there was nothing else for them to really do. Sure, you could fold them back into the S.S. as Captains/Vice Captains again, but at the end of the day, their story was basically done. They might have had more, but Kubo had to get to the other billion characters he had plans for first.

They did add a nice bit of world building though.

The annoying thing about the Vizards comes when you realize that the villain group of the last arc consists exclusively of Quincy. And we learned earlier in the series that Hollow reiatsu is toxic/lethal to Quincies. But somehow that was forgotten considering how easily the Vizards were bodied

Unlike, seemingly, most people here, I liked a lot of the Sternritter. She was no exception. She's another character who's basically a terrible individual and Kubo just leaned into it. According to supplementary materials, she's apparently on the same level of smarts as Mayuri. Too bad it didn't get into the manga proper.

His intro chapter was even called "The Buckbeard". All he knew was that he wanted a villain with monstrous facial hair.
