The makes a sort of sense. It was very different that's for sure. I remember it reminded me a lot of whatever those hero stage shows for kids are called. The power rangers sort of thing.

Like he heard all the people complaining about how much repetition there was and just suddenly thought.. hey why not?

Unfortunately, I feel like we all learned the answer to "Why not?" because I definitely don't think that arc was good.

Which is sort of funny in hindsight because fatigue with the repititoin got us Fullbringers and the failure of that resulted in him scraping the bottom of the barrel and finding the Quincy's down there.

If he'd just stuck to hollows, I really do think the story would have probably been better off.

I felt like Quincy Ichigo was probably always planned... well whatever counts for "planned" with Kubo I don't really know

That I definitely disagree with that. I don't think any of that was planned at all. Pretty much everything around Ichigo's family just screams retcon to me. He worked it into the story relatively smoothly but I don't believe for a second that was planned.

Haha, that's true.

I sort of imagine it was planned when his editor begged him to keep Bleach going for 50th time. With him looking at the good idea bin... empty. The decent idea bin... empty. Then checked his spam email and found a story suggestion from Kishi and said "It'll do."

Idk how those are the same deal lol. Unless you put coolant and beer where engine oil is meant to go, and are still flabbergasted when something is wrong.

But yea, a bit of planning might have helped some of these situations. Not a detailed one just some points plotted so you don't wander. Unless it's a beach arc with Rangiku as the MC.

I think Ikkaku is very cool. Shame he kinda was irrevelant despite achieving bankai.

I added Kira pretty much solely because how cool his shikai is. Funky design, cool power with a nice ideology behind it. Shame it never went full-blown gravity control with bankai or something.

Kite also looked pretty badass after the Mayuri mods.

Yachiru, a character that easily [and utterly] outshines her packhorse - I'm still peeved as to what was done to her character

and

Isshin... he was a fun character when he appeared (and a fine parenting attitude, that I have taken steps to emulate) and him giving Aizen the finger was greatly appreciated!
As with many characters on this list, it would've been great if we'd got more information about him - I'd have loved to see a flashback on his history (especially with Urahara/as a captain), similar to what was done in TBTP

Isshin's treatment was very weird. Could have made my list if he had been used better.

Yachiru also almost made my list but I didn't add her because of her nature. I always wondered if it was a retcon or not. That theory was popular but I would have preferred something else.

She being Kenpachi's Zanpakuto. I wouldn't say "horrible" but it annoyed me after all this time. I got the impression that Kubo just wanted to make things simpler to end his manga.
