No. If I think hard I believe I could make a top 10. But it wouldn't really be a fun one IMO because my pool would be small.

Balsa comes to mind for example, she is the protag and a great one. But then if I wanted to nominate someone like Holo would she count? Since she shares the spotlight with Lawrence. In her case she is more of the deuteragonist.

Exactly the point I'm driving here. In the animango world there aren't that many, and boys/men don't read series with female protagonists (ecchi doesn't count) as much as they would ones with male protagonist.

Because of that list of characters that THE protagonists would be way more interesting, because people could find something new to read / watch. Something that they wouldn't usually come across with.
