The character that gets no goddamn love anywhere on the internet. He's a great character you fools. He's mainly looked down upon because he was sacrificed to the alter of Zaraki early on in the series, but he had a lot to him. Even moreso when the recent novels went into more about his backstory and why he did join Aizen and what his "Path of Least Bloodshed" actually meant.

My memories are really hazy, maybe I am completely wrong. I think I liked him but his reason for treason weren't convincing enough and he turned into an edgelord, not the fun kind.

I would say the only thing Kubo did wrong with his character was never have him and Yhwach meet. Especially after specifically trained to take down Juha, wanting to revenge Yamamoto.
Otherwise I thought he was one of the better done captains.

I love her chemistry with Hitsugaya, with him desperately trying to be super mature and her trolling him.

To be honest, I really think that Tousen could also have been an awesome character - he was just yet another character added to the pile to be wasted without the deserved effort put into them

hell even Byakuya and Rukia's relationships could've all been given far more time to shine

You aren't wrong. Well, the edgelord thing may be a debatable, but yeah.

His reasons for betraying the Soul Society kind got lost "Path of Least Bloodshed" thing like I mentioned.

His reasons were basically due to the systemic corruption that the Soul Society was basically founded on. To him, the war that he and Aizen waged on the Soul Society would've led to the least amount of casualities in the long term, rather than let things continue as they were, with the Nobles and the "Soul King".

Some of that was implied in the manga, but the big picture wasn't fully revealed until the novels came out.

[Hakuteiken]

Komamura going criminally underrated for being out of top 20, because he was such a well written character compared to most.

He was the best captain material we had. Dutiful, held himself with pride that wasn't going to stupid levels. He cared greatly about his subordinates and his friends. He found it in its heart to fight with and for people that stay away from his kin for them being castaways.
Even his final power up was one of the few that had some meaning behind during this last messy arc.

Honestly, I am indifferent to Rukia as a character. And I never saw the IchiRuki pairing as romantic while reading/watching. It was clear to me, that both weren't into each others.

But then the manga ended and what I witnessed shocked me.

Now, I'm kinda meh to both of these characters - I don't think Ichigo is anywhere as annoying as other main Shounen protagonists, I just kinda got a bit over all his random extra bullshit powers, that he kept on acquiring

Soi Fon is also not so exciting - I reckon more could've been made of her interactions with Yoruichi/Kisuke, but I did like the fact that Soul Society had at least one ninja

and her Bankai - although not a personal favourite of mine, is at least better than some of the ones that will appear later in this listing (my god, if one of those doesn't upset me, by how unimaginative it is...)
