I have to say although being super fan I really disliked Harribel's animation altogether. They made her slimmer, thinner, taller, the braids looked horrible, that underboob costume change was just an other cherry on top next to the many other cherries. All the manga badassness kinda ruined.

I really like Shinji and kinda felt he deserved a little extra

Everything about him spoke to his personality - from him first writing his name upsidown on the blackboard, to him making an utter fool of Grimjaw, to the way he dealt with Ichigo... it was all gravy

To be honest, I actually liked most of the Visard - sure, they were kinda wasted, but they turned up during a period where Kubo was trying to highlight how 'such threat, much power' Aizen was

They got the Komamura treatment


Would've been awesome to see them actually highlighting their grudge with SS - like, why the fuck should they help SS out, when SS needs it? SS never helped them out, when they needed it...

His fight with Grimmjow was SOOOOOOO epic. Even if it was just one armed Grimmjow, everything about it was perfect. From the entrance, to the mask reveal, just good stuff:

I've not read the novels, are they worth it?

To be honest, though, I'd rather see these things in the manga itself, then have to resort to external sources such as LNs (it's the same as the Naruto stuff, from the previous Naruto round)...

Definitely worth it. The Can't Fear Your Own World novels tie a bunch of stuff together, and explain a lot of things we never got to learn in the manga itself, like why Tosen teamed up with Aizen. It kind of explains why the Quincy War arc was done, and what we could have expected afterward. Funny enough, Ichigo isn't even involved.

I agree, and really wished they got adapted into a manga, but it's nice getting to see things that would otherwise not be given.

I really hate how overused she is in banners in that game.

Aside from that, she's a decent character. Could've had a better showing. I think it could've been cool if she rescued the group from Quilge in Huenco Mundo, giving Ichigo the chance to return to S.S., instead of Grimmjow being the one to save them.

Speaking of whom, Grimmjow is another alright character. I liked him more when I was younger, but nowadays, he's just around. Cool name though.

Shinji is funny character. Kubo hyped him up enough that people still think he's one of the stronger characters, despite him not really doing much of anything and jobbing the rest of the time. I like him well enough still. But hey, at least we got his Bankai in the novel.
