Power balance reasons? She is already Captain tier without it.

Remembering how Isshin said Captain class Shinigami had to compress their reiatsu, otherwise they'd have to carry around skyscraper sized Zanpakutou around, perhaps Yoruichi is doing a similar job and basically erasing her Zanpakutou from the picture as she prefers fighting without a sword due to her style.

Possibly. Kubo could've had a very specific ability in mind for it and it just didn't fit the combat situations he had planned for her, like Shinji's Bankai and Nanao's Zanpakuto.

I really hate Zaraki. He's legitimately my least favorite character in the series. He's just strong and that's it. If he had a character beyond the whole fighting thing, I might be cool with him, but he doesn't. He's pretty much the reason why I hate most other battle crazy characters like him in other series. Nevermind the fact that he had the most annoying fandom who rewarded his shallow antics with heaps of praise.

Plus he tended to fight and defeat the majority of the characters I liked, not including Grimmy.

Oh, I loved Kyouraku - and I still wasn't a fan of his bankai

Aesthetically, it was great - how it worked, meh

It was super strong, but really not very interesting outside of that

I really am not a fan of powers that have no obvious weakness/powers that are as hax as Kyouraku's bankai is

I mean, check out Kommamura, Ichigo, Byakuya, Mayuri, or Toshiro's bankais - all pretty imposing, all pretty powerful...
... all not so hax that you can't see someone being able to find a way to fight them

Magic drowning play bankai?
It's like genjutsu in Naruto - it just removes the fight from most people

That is a fair point. It was one of those abilities that are impossible to counter unless you just happen to survive through it. But I liked how it cycled through different acts, even if those acts themselves could have been more creative. Made it feel like a force of nature, which backed up why he could never use it around others.
And yeah, the aesthetic was great.

Ranks 2 - 5 are separated by only 5 points (and the 1st place wasn't in 1st place a few nominations prior to the final one...)

I'm pretty fsking happy that I didn't count the votes manually, but instead used Excel to automate the scores

I mean that alone means he was no warrior. A warrior would live to fight, win and die by a reason. Kenpachi just loved clashing swords. He was a battle brute, not much else.

His eyepatch was a cool detail, since it sort of introduced "power beyond perception" kind of concept to the story. I think he got completely stuck post-Nnoitra fight, though.
