Her fight with Aaroniero was rather nice. One of the better, more underrated fights in Hueco Mundo.

Was it? Arroniero was pretty weak. It felt like a way too make her look strong. The Kaien memories were cool though.

One of the only people to use kido successfully, in combat

From his first appearance (where he dealt with Ichigo like he was a dog's toy), to the time at the bridge (where he dealt with Ichigo like a dog's toy), to the time he put Renji in his place (and dealt with him like a dog's toy)...

... all the way to the time where he fought Ichigo with his bankai (and dealt with him like a dog's toy [till Mr White showed up and ruined the ending of that fight])
he's exuded an aura of power and ability with more force than Zaraki's spiritual power actually possesses

The only thing more powerful than this, is his disdain for those lower on the social ladder than him
(a most refreshing quality to have)

His change, following the Rukia arc, seemed genuine - and, most importantly, it wasn't rushed, but was done gradually and [relatively] believably

I loved his zanpakuto abilities, especially his bankai
He doesn't even need to hold onto his blade to beat the likes of you

(also, that cage of swords was awesome - even if he didn't/couldn't attack you with them, all at once)

... although I wasn't a huge fan of the way that his fight with Ichigo ended, I didn't hate it

All in all, a well designed, interesting character

Byakuya himself is a cool character and I loved the gradual development.

I voted for Rukia, so glad to see she made the top 10. Really liked her character and, when all things are said and done, she's a pretty good character. She's definitely exceedingly more interesting than Ichigo, though he's necessary for their interactions.

Byakuya is a fine character and all...but he should've have died against As Nodt.

Byakuya is actually an inspiration to my life, as he had an excellent stance towards his environment.

"The fact that you consider yourself as an equal to me, is being arrogant in itself."

Byakuya is a fine character and all...but he should've have died against As Nodt.

This is the only black mark I would say he has as a character. And even then, he was brought back because apparently Kubo received death threats (Or something along those lines).
The best Captain in the story easily.

Would also say his Bankai is easily the best in the story. It never lost its flair no matter how many times he used it (Compared to some of the other characters).

Aah Rukia - a female character that stayed pretty strong throughout the story
She was never meant to be a powerhouse and never needed to become one [thankfully Kubo either agreed, or forgot about her, so he didn't end up fucking her up like that]

I loved her banter with Ichigo
Her dealings with Urahara
Her conflicted relationship with her brother
Her zanpakuto's aesthetic and abilities
Her eventual breakdown [after putting on a brave face] in front of Gin...

It was all good

Although not on the Rukia-Ichigo bandwagon, I still bought their 'relationship' (or whatever they had) over the Orihime-Ichigo one

She was the main focus of the best arc of the manga - and, although I didn't vote for her (as I do prefer [at least] 10 other characters over her), I reckon she's well deserving of her spot in the final 10

Aaaa Rukia Totally agreed with what zim said, she should've been the one for Ichigo. One of the few chars that remained great until the end, even though she got too little screentime.

One of the few "arrogant" characters I instantly liked, bc he's just that cool (and proved to have a good heart).

 

[Belserion]

I really liked Byakuya after he got over his moral dilemma at the start. One of the characters I'd say had visible development. Loved his fight with Zommari. I think that fight cemented him as a decent guy in my mind because I spent a while triggered over how he almost let Rukia get executed without resistance.

Byakuya is also the strongest Captain .

My only regret is that he even made the top 10, at all...

Aizen was a character who really started out strong - had an amazing twist and a great character
I can't stress this enough
That first 'reveal' was amazing

It cemented Bleach as my number 1 manga in Shounen Jump, at the time

... then he got hold of the Hōgyoku and, as it changed his abilities, it also ruined his character

It turned out that the cement was of a pretty dubious quality



He falls firmly into the category of 'characters who are already powerful enough to not need any more power increases'... yet, more power increases he did receive

Had you asked me to make a top 10 following him first taking the Hōgyoku, he might well have made even my list
But he's a prime example of 'the more you see of him, the less you want to see of him'

He had that annoying 'I know what you did last Summer' trope - only his was turned up to 11, where he was actually the one who sold you the car that was used in the hit and run, put the fisherman in the road, and distracted you whilst you were driving...
... it's a boring trope, at the best of times

He ruined the chance of many awesome characters to shine - even those on his own 'side'

Worst of all, I'm still not sure why he even did it in the first place
None of his backstory was explained
No reason for him wanting to act like he did (not in the manga at least) - I mean, sure, there was a small conversation with Kisuke, but that was it
also, whilst we are on that topic, what even was his backstory with Kisuke?!?

There's surprisingly little to his character, I'm not sure he even has all that much more character than Zaraki


Yeeah...

To say I'm not a fan is not even scratching the surface - I used to be a fan, but then Aizen became Aizen
