It's the reality of things, whether 'sOpHiStIcAtEd ReAdErz' like you agree with it or not. The Korean fanbase is what drives the story's performance metrics and they're clearly not happy with this kind of shit. Solo Leveling never had that kind of ratings issues.

Solo ended without reaching 200 chapters. that’s how shallow the story is.

ToG is quite literally the longest webtoon series on going, I believe.

ToG is quite literally the longest webtoon series on going, I believe.

Because that was the length of the light novel series it was adapted from. It's not a bad thing that the manhwa didn't try to deviate from the source material. That's an idea that seldom leads to good things. Tower of God's anime staff would do well to heed that.

Whether you liked it or not, Solo Leveling was an extremely successful series that has inspired god knows how many derivative knockoff series.

Successful enough that a whole bunch of hacks are copying it and people are still reading those stories. There are other series that have tried to take ToG's idea of using a Tower as a setting, but even those tend to be more like Solo Leveling than Tower of God.

From my understanding, Solo leveling and its structure is the most popular in Korea since it has the most prominent ideas. Shadow? check. Dungeons? check. Army of monsters under MC? Check. OP MC? check.

With all of these combined, you've got yourself some delicious slop that'll sell well there.

there have yet to be copies of ToG because of how unique it is.

just like they can’t milk piracy manga like One Piece. They can’t recreate it.

the whole dungeon leveling stuff is all overrated. It is milked. Solo leveling is just another one of them in the future.
