first for some explanations:
I did the pages two weeks ago with the objective to attain as much detail and quality for a less time. I did them just for practice - that's why I didn't crop them appropriately. Then I waited for a MQ or HQ release to compare and to answer my questions on how to enhance them further. But the only release for this chapter was a LQ/MQ scan (even if I personally wouldn't rate it MQ at all, but then again who am I to rate scans
)... so my quest for knowledge remained unfulfilled >.<
Obviously I'm not going to work on them any more - I'm not going to make a Edited Manga so the first thing I'd request is
1) to rate them as they are now -> one-by-one (if there are differencies) or overall ^^
and some questions:
2) I spent up to 10 minutes per page while trying not to damage the lines (overleveling) and cleaning some dust from the whites... and I think what's left is blackening the blacks - but apart from some obvious places like the SFX, Faye's back or Yuko's dress and Mokona's face/body that need to be completely black - there are many places with gradients or textures/patterns that are hard to tell to what extent need to be blackened - and the decision what is dust and what is intentionaly left dusty/whitey is the hardest - any advice here? (and I'm not talking about the white splotches that obviously need to stay white)
and finally
3) I used an effect to soften the overall look of the pages - is this effect obvious - should I decrease it (i.e. is it damaging some of the detail) or is it good the way it's applied - I use the effect because it gives a better overall look for the grays
