Well we got 11 new series this year, same as 2016. Ranking best to worst:
Shudan
Hungry Marie (Reading raws now and it's freaking hilarious)
Dr Stone (Couldn't have had a worse start, but it's decent-ish now)
Golem Hearts
We Never Learn
RxL
Lycopene
Poro
Cross Account
Full Drive
U19

Pretty good year for new series as Lycopene is the cutoff for what I'd consider good. 2016 had 4 acceptable series for me personally, so a much better turnout
Best to worst of the 2017 new series:
1. We Never Learn
2. Dr. Stone
3. Shudan
4. Cross Account
5. Lycopene
6. Hungry Marie
7. Poro
8. Golem Hearts
9. Robot x Laserbeam
10. U19
11. Full Drive

The first 2 I'm really loving, especially WNL. Spots 3-5 are alright. Spots 6-9 were passable but kind of boring or not my thing. The last 2 I did not enjoy at all. This was my first year following magazine releases (actually only been doing it a few months), so I don't have much to compare it to. Rest in peace to Samon, you were truly a diamond in the rough lol. Can't wait to see how far Spring Weapon makes it into this year, and which series it'll ultimately pass the "low-selling how-are-you-still-here?" torch to once (if) it departs. Bozebeats doesn't look like my thing, but Act-age may be interesting

Every debate on female characters in Jump that get out of hand

Backlash over Yuuna's ecchi
The creation of the phrase "venerate veterans"

New series best to worst:

2017 was a good year for Jump.
Kimetsu no Yaiba and Yakusoku no Neverland increasing sales with each volume released.
Yuuna-san had his anime announced (well deserved).
Hinomaru Zumou also had its anime announced.
WNL has become a good substitute for Nisekoi (I do not mean in sales).
Dr. Stone in my opinion was the best rookie of the year, with a good story and great characters.
Robot x Laserbeam is a good sport manga for Jump, RxL can be very popular with the passage of time.

1- Dr Stone
also 1- WNL
3- RxL
4- Shudan
5- Full Drive
6- Poro
7- Tomato
8- U19
9- Golem Hearts
10- Hungry Marie
11- Cross Account

I don't get the hype for Golem Hearts, sure it looks cute but the structure so far has just been the same as every other recent flop battle shounen. Are people just that hungry for a new battle shounen, or do they genuinely really like the 'spend 4 chapters drawing out what should've been chapter 1, do an edgy death scene that means nothing, etc' formula all the failures have?

I think the worst things that happened this year were:
Watsuki's arrest.
Hungrie Marie have disappointed me.
Black Clover being poorly adapted by Pierrot.
Samon-kun cancelled.

Shuudan did not become a success.:(

Best moments would have to include We Never Learn surviving the serialization round thin-out and the announcement of a Yuuna anime. Worst moment is the loss of Samon (no matter how reasonable and justifiable its axing was). Taking that gamble on Spring Weapon at least reaching its level of sales ultimately didn't pay off.
Best:
Members with Excel charts
Anime announcements for Hinomaru & Yuragi
More gags in the magazine
While I'm sure others have them around here, I'm glad you enjoyed the Excel charts! 2018 should be much easier since I just rolled the workbook forward a year and deleted the rows of series that ended last year.

First half of E no Genten one shot was expected. The 2nd half though :XD

This one shot looks like something Komi did for fun.

Man, I'll really miss Shudan, seeing the last chapter makes me so sad. Definitely the best WSJ series I read this year.

Are there YouTube videos available? For the music itself, not the OP/ED.

E no Genten (Naoshi Komi) oneshot raw: https://tieba.baidu.com/p/5499104741
Shudan! final chapter raw: https://tieba.baidu.com/p/5499129162
I can't read kanji and stuff, so I'm not really sure if this is the case or not, but it seems like they focused more on the relationship of the MC and his whom I presume to be childhood friend rather than the gaming aspect of it. Would have liked to have seen how Komi-sensei would have illustrated a full match, but he probably didn't have enough page space to fit something like that in. Either way, it's cool that we got a manga, even if it's just a one-shot, about fighting games. Fills me with a bit of pride as I consider myself an avid member of the FGC. Whether Komi-sensei decides to take this idea and do more with it in the future, I'm glad he wrote this one-shot. Can't wait to read Origin of E translated in a couple weeks.
