Every year contains batches of "bad" manga. Remember Judos,Hi-Fi Cluster, and Sporting Salt?Jump has sold its soul on appealing to every group, genre, and age range. With most of the readers in our generation (we're all mostly 20s-30s), we develop different tastes as we grow older. It gives us a different perspective in a fictional setting that can resonate with us if done right. From a real life perspective that's great to hear, it opens the possibilities for authors of all kinds. But this ain't how it was supposed to turn out. Variety was never the issue in recent years, the entertainment aspect was. It's gone.
But you're no different than me. None of these new seralizations move you to read it. I read Act Age 6 and I felt moved, that ain't battle shonen. It's anorexic girls trying to be the next Meghan Good.
I think the mag is in great shape right now. Really diverse and something for everyone.
