Big question will be what's ending if anything next week. Will it be Murakami? Or will they hold 21 series until MYF ends some point before HxH finishes its run.

Nothing should be ending next week but I guess Murakami has like a 2% chance if its doing horrible on the survey.

I'm really hoping Madan no Ichi is a hit because its look and aesthetic is so appealing to me. Gonna keep my expectations low though after MMA and GGG didn't make it and those were two recent ones I really loved

Also, I haven't even started it yet but looks like I was right about Himaten. I said it would be a success when the first cover and color page leaked. Sometimes you can just see the character designs and know that it'll find a solid audience right from the start.

Good question. If anything as much as Jump is hiding the fact that yes, it’s in the back to be the “staple comedy series” for the end joke like Pyu to Fuku Jaguar and Isobe Isobe, we all know no one is buying that. So obviously (and let’s be glad it is no one that is Nakano with gag titles), we won’t see gag bias going forward and will be more merciless for the sake of space.

But obviously if they do, yes that series will be gone. But it will be tough depending on who will join it. We could just get 1 series with Murakami getting cancelled, and with HxH ending in 10-20 chapters. But that makes it 19, and if Jump will be merciful they would. Then again is Yozakura is really wrapping things up quickly since this is the final battle, I won’t be to worried. But yes, a part of me does feel like it is rushing a bit, but what this chapter did this week made up for it despite the fight being off screened. But it is still disappointing that we didn’t see the fight. So if we are going to be light I hope that it is Murakami for cancellation and Yozakura ending naturally. It is really that much harder due to how I love everything (except for Murakami and Roboco [but I don’t hate Roboco as much as I was in its beginnings]). So unless we see massive flops from last year if KB and Nue don’t step it up, or the 2024 titles flop (which will be hard cause there are some real heavy hitters that have yet to hit their stride).

So in short, we are at a point where we really can’t say anything is bad and we want it axed compared to how it was 4 years ago when the 13 titles that survived 2020 (mainly to fill in a lot of the holes caused by the exodus), I really wanted to axe them due to how a third to a quarter of them were worth keeping and everything else had to go.

I really wish I can give more votes as I wanted to give one to Yozakura.

Saw a few leak pages of Madan no Ichi chapter and Usazaki art really improved, also, in my opinion, it looks similar to Tabata's Black Clover art

Really? I guess Usazaki really upped her standards. But in comparison to Tabata’s art, that is high praise as I always praise Tabata as he has a lot of detail when doing the series, especially when he uses filigree. But this is something that I wanted to say about Usazaki’s art when I saw it as well. I know she is great and from the videos I saw in the past on the chapters that weren’t translated by Viz yet (at the time), I think her imagination to make the worlds come to life were always stunning, as well as the character designs. But in her beginnings, I could still see the green in her as I believe when she was in chapter 3 or 5 there was a line error on the agency’s building that threw me off as I knew it was a mistake. But since she was young at the time I knew that I can’t harp on her for being inconsistent with the backgrounds every once in a while. But I think she improved since that time so she knows what to expect and has improved from the time she was working on Act-Age to where she is now. So that 2 and a half years of experience is worth it for this.

By the way, what is the gender of the lead cause I can’t tell because of the hat?

My thoughts on the color pages for this issue:

-I think Usazaki is amazing. Both the cover and the lead color pages are really pulling me in. It is how I compared Candy Flurry on how the characters were distant and that the leads were not getting close enough to sell the cover. Here you see the lead while we see other witches framing them using some night time lighting. But you can also tell that there is one witch that is prominent that will serve as a friend or rival. The one dressed in white that has golden eyes and a darker skin complex. She intrigues me. Also, with the LCP I am getting the feel of what type of environment we will see in regarding its fantasy build. I know that one complaint that for most fantasy series have is that the esthetics can be quite similar due to it matching Medieval Fantasy. And Black Clover can really heavily lean into that. But what I think it tells me that it is different is in the roofs as it does have an educational look to it as if we are seeing Ivy League buildings compared to the standard cobblestone castles and fortresses we have seen so many times. Here it is built by marble. So I have my expectations high and I hope Osamu delivers with their writing.

-Astro Royale’s art looks good in terms of design. Something about it also reminds me of a One Piece cover that was in WSJ and Oda recycled it for the volume cover. Never disrespect the Red, White, and Black color scheme when doing a color page like this. But I also think that this really showcases the cast as well as their abilities, so I’m not mad at all.

-Kill Blue’s was decent, so no complaints.

-And Akane’s was simple, but very effective. What I like is that it is showing more emotion from Akane as I have seen her sad when she lost. But for the vast majority, I have seen her happy or goofy. But one of my main criticisms from the beginning of the series, especially from the magazine and volume covers and CP’s, one think that Moue had to work on was watching out when drawing Akane and not capture her when she makes faces. I say that cause she is a very beautiful girl and by making faces it would somewhat distract and take it away. But then again it makes her more cute in a childish way. But here, it almost feels like she is reaching being a woman than a girl.

Art looks gorgeous. Really hope the story is as good. Will pray to the gods for its survival, I could use a fantasy adventure manga right now.
If all goes well, this could be the next big hit the likes of MHA and JJK.

I trust in Nishi to deliver a great story
but Nishi is a slow burn author and make great use of the Settings for her set up.

Why do you think that ?

I do think that people are overestimating its chances of success overall.

Neither act age or iruma kun are huge successes like tokyo revengers .

It took iruma kun quite a while before it gained some traction so it probably wouldn't have survived in jump.

And nishi is now doing two weekly manga so they can't put their all into this.

As much as I like Wakui's rides, I have to say Nishi's success is a lot more consistent if you need to compare them
We already saw how Astro shot itself even

Consistent in which way? Nishi Osamu doesn't have half of Wakui's longevity or success, even Iruma-kun took 10 volumes just to appear once on Oricon and even more to actually become a hit with the anime, so i'm not really seeing where Nishi Osamu is supposed to have some advantage over Wakui when publishing on Jump.
