I think the weekly pace will be the inhibiting factor for him making any deep mystery unless he takes breaks.

I don't see this as a tease, sorry.
... Fair.

Even if I want to believe he hasn't really gotten started yet, the truth is that he's already at a place where he can safely draw hot spring episodes without any risk of failure. So why take the risk of doing big brainscrambling arcs when he can just throw Lulu in a towel in our faces and still find the same amount of success?

I actually think it is the opposite. If Tsutsui can come up with a compelling mystery and tease the reader enough with a good cliffhanger, then it would engage the readers enough. It’s just a matter of hooking them.

I was curious and decided to look up Yozakura's circulation in my country and holy hell, that's some number unless there is something more about it that I don't know

Oh. It’s okay, I’m the same why i would never say i am from America, cause of you know who. But to hear that it is the best selling there, that’s great.

Man, i love the Miles Edgeworth investigations so much, and it features one of the best plot twist ever. Apollo Justice is just very "eh" though. I think he is just not as strong protagonist as Phoenix.

They are from the Ace Attorney video games.

Higher start for Kiyoshi but last time was a more stacked month. Curious to see what the weekly looks like.

I need to ask, what was Enigma like for everyone when they read it?
I can't let you have only one impression of Enigma and that being a quite negative one since Enigma it's one of my favorite mangas, the thing is that Enigma it's a case of manga that started really good, but it wasn't able to keep that quality for too long, but let's say more than half of the manga was pretty good and as a whole quite original for Shonen Jump since it's like Saw, these "deadly games", there's a reason why the manga had a great time in the ToC rankings and showered with color pages for a while, i was already following the ToC discussions at the time, not in this forum but i can tell you in general people were quite excited for the series because it was something very different than what Jump usually publishes and in fact they still hasn't done anything similar since Enigma, but like i said, the manga quality starts to decline after the big first arc and etc, the usual that happens with mangas that end shortly after completing 1 year.

No way, Hakutaku ranked...
Jump manga always rank at least in the 1st day, i don't think there's any series that didn't ranked at least in the 1st day, even the stuff axed with 12/13 chapters ranked.

You know Yozakura really grown in popularity when Undead wasn't able to start above anymore, neither Nue too, also good to see Nue above UU, hopefully it means will at least keep the same level of sales. Kiyoshi is doing fine too, and yeah, terrible start for Hakutaku, in fact is now the 3rd worst start:

Hakutaku (#307)
Ice-Head Gill (#321)
Ichigoki's Under Control! (#355)

305. Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi #1

lol the backlog of Kiyoshi charted higher than Hakutaku :grin

And btw, i did not expect Medalist, a ice skating sport anime with no fujo bait to actually have a bigger boost than Sakamoto Days, wild :slowly

I get quality doesn't always equate popularity, but some of the clips I've seen from Medalist are straight up ridiculous. I'm not big on the whole Ice Skating thing but even I'm so very nearly tempted to give it a go just because. Pretty sure it also took 1st place in Tsugimanga a while back as well, right? If you ignore... cough cough, the obvious, more often than not that's typically a decent indicator that something is going to be THE anime that season.

Looks at Seitokai ni mo Ana wa Aru and Kagurabachi... And now, we wait.

If by 'obvious', you mean something pertaining to underage characters, the author's apparently a woman if I recall. Not that it makes thing better, but it does tip away from being super questionable.

But the interesting factoid about Medalist is, and I quote from some random redditors

Fun fact: The author, Tsurumaikada, is a huge fan of Ryuzaki Kaoru from iDOLM@STER and used to draw tons of fanart of her before she got big and nuked her Twitter and Pixiv. She got her VA, Natsumi Haruse, to voice Inori for the show!
First of all, the reason why the author became a pro was she wanted to draw a manga about figure skating her favorite VA liked and hoped it would eventually get an anime adaptation to attach her as MC.

She once made a doujinshi about the VA of over 100 pages. Not just about her role but the VA HERSELF.
I wish I was this dedicated as a simp...

lol you went far away in a different direction, i believe Krenkren is mentioning Undead Unluck which also won Tsugimanga but the high quality anime didn't do anything for the manga sales :grin
