Well, first, congratulations to the Nue fans! It was looking like a rough week both here and on the Japanese side, but I'm glad you guys got several victories. Honestly, I think you can afford to relax for the rest of this year. By the likes of it, the doomposting has moved onto Astro now....

As for the ToC...ehhh, I'm kind of bummed about Syd, but last week's chapter made me feel a little bit tired of the whole formula. Until we see how Embers and Beethoven end up, I'll switch my primary hopes to them. (Well, primarily Beethoven).

beethoven is already dead too tbh, might as well not get too much hope on it

Fun fact: Kagurabachi is the first WSJ series since Chainsaw Man for a volume to surpass 100K copies sold in one week.
the people really thought the hype died down but it's still maintaining speed.....if a repeat of sakamoto days adaptation happens again they might have to ask for saito's head as EiC 😭

To be fair to him, he wasnt the eic when the sakamoto days anime was in production; that was entirely nakano's fault.

Kagurabachi and Ichi are successful, Himaten, Kyoshi and Shinobigoto are relatively safe, after all, the publishers don't seem to want to cancel them, despite the low sales. Killblue and Nue have been in the bottom 5 for a LONG TIME, it's been 17 weeks since Killblue had a cover or colored pages, remembering that Killblue belongs to a veteran mangaka, anyone, in Fujimaki's place would have already been canceled.
Kiyoshi isnt safe. It has a good toc but sales are bad. Kill Blue stats are barely different than from nue. Syd is DOA, embers and star of b still has to rank. Jump is already in a cooked state, they don't wanna end up burned for making worse decisions

I'm surprised people in this thread aren't talking more about how much of a fumble SD anime was. I was expecting at least 200k in a month number in worst case scenario. Now it can't even boost the manga sales to beat vol.16 sales.... can't even beat KGB with no anime.

This has been the biggest disappointment I've seen from WSJ, the battle shonen with great potential getting this mistreatment is so atrocious.

Why some of guys acting like Astro is dead just because vol 4 did 648 copies less and with 1 extra day than vol 3? I doubt Saito is looking at this and thinking "Yeah, Astro needs to go", that's virtually nothing :XD

Anyway, Kagurabachi increased a bit, last volume did 91k in 5, pretty much got stale but this one had some increase and Ichi selling in 6 days what vol 1 did in a month is pretty impressive :super

Bruh, Yozakura selling 31k in 6 days, this is pretty much what some former volumes did in a month!!! And is now outselling both Akane & Witch Watch former volumes, we're continuing to thrive Yozabros! 💪

Shinobi doing in 6 weeks what vol 1 did in a month is pretty impressive, this one is 100% safe, not that it needed this much since the ToC rankings are very good, but a increase in volume sales is always good to see too.

You know, I never expected it to happen but my day one Shinobigoto stocks are already making a profit. Very nice milestone for Kagurabachi and Ichi both. I get neither are on that level quite yet but it's pretty hilarious to me that the magazine found two prospective hits right as JJK and MHA were ending. Something like equivalent exchange, maybe Saito is an alchemist? Once One Piece ends perhaps we'll get another million seller.

No, that's just how it works, is a eternal cycle, once the older big hits start to end, new big ones will start to appear either in the same or next year, it's always like this on Jump.

Not sure why folks are down about SakaDays not reaching 200k new volume with an anime.

It's not like anime guarantees explosive physical sales. It's more about having very long legs post anime

The saltiness from Sakamoto fans will be so unreal if Nue get a top tier adaptation lol. Will be glorious to see. Will be funny if it got a Fate Anime style.
Will already happen with Gachiakuta, it sells as much as Kill Blue and the first PV just got released and it looks really good.

Sakamoto Days fanbase has a meltdown if an anime with good animation even EXISTS and cry and cry

But that's another decrease on its volume... i think that now astro is way more on the verge of being the next one cancelled because of it

Or for a miracle, they don't want to lose Wakui to WSM again, so they'll let him do the series until the end
