Man, the recent Senryuu Shoujo chapter looks SO much better now that Chapters 151-152 happened. It really feels like Nanako's getting more aggressive and now that their relationship has crossed the barrier from "practically dating" to "actually dating", it honestly does feel like things are developing again now that their feelings are out in the open.
Doesn't seem like an axe is in sight, too, so I'm interested in seeing them grow ever closer. Also, I want more of the Prez and judo president. They're great.

2019 proved that Go-Toubun no Hanayome reigns supreme in Weekly Shonen Magazine for the time being. If it wouldn't have been for WSJ's Kimetsu no Yaiba blowing up beyond imaginable proportions, I would've said that Gotoubun had the biggest explosion of backlog sales thanks to its anime adaptation. In fact, Gotoubun ended up being 5th overall in the rankings for all manga series for 2019, becoming one of a small selection of WSM series to do so. In addition to Gotoubun, many other series currently running also received anime adaptations during the year, with more typical levels of backlog sales, but nonetheless, I have found the adaptations to be good thus far.
WSM's current lineup is quite different from many of the other weekly magazines. Most of their series are at least a couple years old, and are either pretty stable or exhibit slight growth. While stability can be seen as a good thing, it could also have a side-effect of promoting stagnation. This can be seen by the fact that WSM only premiered 5 new series during 2019, and one of them already ended. In total, 6 series concluded, one of which being the 4-page short series Mako-san wa Shindemo Jiritsu Shinai. I am expecting this number will increase significantly next year due in part to many of the older series appear to be gearing up to their natural conclusions.
During the 2019 publication time, there were 7 series with perfect attendance: Days, Senryuu Shoujo, Tokyo卍Revengers, Kanojo Okarishimasu, Go-Toubun no Hanayome, Danshi Koukousei wo Yashinaitai Onee-san no Hanashi, and Eden's Zero. I'll also give a special shoutout to the author of Eden's Zero, who not only maintained perfect attendance for the main series, but also had a few weeks where he either released 2 chapters at once or released the miniseries Heroes at the same time. Regardless of how you feel about his works, you can't deny that he's some sort of machine, similar to Boichi in WSJ. The award for most color pages also goes to Go-Toubun no Hanayome with a total of 7 color pages. Unlike most other weekly magazines, WSM does a better job at spreading out its color pages to most of its series, with much of the rest of the lineup falling within the 4-6 color pages range.
Looking ahead to next year, as I previously mentioned, I am anticipating some major changes to the lineup of WSM. Between series that were announced to be in their final arcs or those that seem to be naturally concluding, I wouldn't be surprised if Go-Toubun no Hanayome, Domestic na Kanojo, Nanatsu, Senryuu, and Tokyo Revengers wrap up by the end of 2020. This list includes the 2 best selling series of the current lineup, and many others the fall in the sure and steady sales group. With Kishuku also having recently ended, I am anticipating several new romcoms are in our near future, with the author of Yamada and the 7 Witches likely filling one of those slots. While it will be sad to see them go, I am pleased to have been along for the ride, and hopefully what comes after them will be able to fill the big shoes left behind. I, for one, am feeling optimistic for 2020!
Special thanks to u/hni-scantrad from Reddit for telling me the page numbers for Hajime no Ippo each week! I couldn't have done it without you!

I’ve read your analyses of the three “weekly shonen” magazines - they’re all fantastic by the way - and I’m coming to the conclusion that 2020 will see some major shakeups happen within them. Loads of new manga are going to have a better chance than ever at establishing themselves because huge old guards are set to conclude - I only hope the new manga that are set to come out will be able to fill in their shoes.

Thank you very much! I think this upcoming year is going to be one of the best years in the past few years to secure a stable slot in the 3 primary weekly shonen magazines due to so many of the older series starting to wrap up at around the same time. I can see this impacting Weekly Shonen Magazine the most right now since many of its series are at least 2 and a half to 3 years old, with more than a handful being much older than that. Either way, losing their 2 biggest series, Go-Toubun and Nanatsu, is going to be a tremendous hit to happen at approximately the same time. With several openings available in the romcom and adventure genres, authors definitely have the opportunity to get while the getting's good!
Enjoyable, but it's hard to see it working as long series, and considering yoshikawa track record of going off rail for both her past serialization, I don't have much faith it'll be that enjoyable if it's run longer than a year

I wouldn't mind reading more of this if it were serialized. In terms of being interesting, I think I'm learning towards this one being my favorite of her three oneshots, followed by the first one about the demon and angel, then the last one about vampires or whatever that was. During 2020, if we had this, Miura's recent oneshot from this past issue, and another harem series of some sort, I would be quite satisfied with the romcom lineup in the magazine.
To Your Eternity Present Arc will begin on Issue 8 (January 22)
Also:
EDIT: I've read there are more comments on Twitter about Hiiragi-san (the oneshot of the vampire family) than about Cuckoo. I hope we know the Mishikawa oneshot winner soon.

No kidding? Maybe the dialogue might change my mind if it ever gets translated into English, but that one seemed like it was the least interesting to me. However, even though it was my least favorite, I thought it still seemed like it could be decent. Honestly, it doesn't really seem like there is a bad choice among the three oneshots, but I am definitely eager to see which one got the most votes.
Here's Mishikawa's Twitter announcement to start the voting. The first Tweets underneath seem to be her reposting the links to each of the oneshots. They all look pretty close to me looking solely from Twitter.
It looks like the deadline to cast votes is long past as well, so I'm hoping this means we'll be able to see the results soon enough. All three of her original announcement Tweets for each oneshot have about the same number of likes and retweets as well, so I'm not sure I can predict which is going to win.

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure the Cuckoo one is the one one that's been translated into English. However, I think that devil and angel was was translated into Russian if you're able to understand that language.
Damn, they weren't kidding when they said that's all Tamaki was used for... it fuckng sucks because I really liked her design and personality when she was first introduced and I wanted to see more of her but... not like this.
It would feel really really really odd if both Nanatsu and 5toubun are still running in late-January. Both of them are giving very strong vibes of "ending in 4 chapters". Dunno about Domekano because it can easily stretch into new subplots.
I feel we are going to have some strong months in terms of new serializations. I also hope to see the next big romcom happening (and I have high hopes in Cuckoo).
Lol this is really sad, I only read up to between chapters 90-100, and I do recall Tamaki losing her clothes at every single turn but this is just ridiculous
