with how great K&C and Bakemonogatari are being received
the new romcom wave all doing well
and Ohtaka, Seo and Mashima's new work
WSM is lowkey developing a pretty strong lineup

anyway, since we don't have a MSM thread I'm gonna ask here, any update on Norgami's hiatus?

The lineup is very strong indeed. I'm glad to hear the reception for K&C has been strong, hopefully someone translates it and I was expecting people to be into the Bakemonogatari manga, for obvious reasons.

Apparently the artist drew this postcard for 2018. So not much unfortunately.
Edit: I'm not even sure if the postcard was made in 2018, but the message is recent.

Foreal tho it’s looking good. Magazine Pocket too with Nagatoro. I can’t complain about diversity, 4 battles will be running by June and that’s a great amount for a sports/drama magazine mostly. Lots of anime announcements as well, outside of FF idek who would be next.

Lead color for Gotoubun is always great to see. The lineup is looking pretty good, and it was surprising to see Eito not at the bottom lol
Current circulation numbers last reported on the magazine: (within ~4 weeks)
  • Kanojo Okarishimasu - 200K (3 volumes)
  • Gotou-bun no Hanayome - 250K (3 volumes)
  • Smile at the Runway - 250K (4 volumes)
  • Senryu Shoujo - 300K (4 volumes)
  • Tokyo Revengers - 500K (6 volumes)
  • Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet - 1,000K (7 volumes)
  • Hoshino Me wo Tsubutte - 750K (10 volumes)
  • Tsurezure Children - 1,000K (11 volumes)
  • Real Account - 2,700K (19 volumes)
Didn't know Revengers actually had pretty solid numbers.
When did Tokyo Revengers get that big? I thought I remember seeing a while back that it was 5 volumes and around 300K. Maybe I was mistaken, but I thought its size was about the same as the other 4 noted. EDIT: Nevermind. I just saw the 500K number on WSM's official website. Good for Tokyo Revengers!

WSM seems like it has a lineup of series that at the very least are doing pretty good. With the exception of Eito, everything else seems to be selling nicely. It looks like we're still missing a huge pillar, stand-out success series, but at least the magazine taken as a whole is doing pretty well.

Excellent for Gotoubun and really good for Tsurezure. Mako and Sensei Sukidesu ranked pretty well this week. Mako-san's first volume released today, and I hope that it does well. It seems like a cute little series with fun characters and interactions. I'd like to see Hoshino a bit higher as it runs through its final arc. It'd be nice to see Senryuu, Runway and Kishuku higher next week.

For WSM, when is the other time that the magazine has a strong line up as this year?
For the 2 chapters of Danshi, I don't really like it since not only it is another real life rom com series, while the premise is unique it can be quite controversial (having a woman paying your debt and wanting to take care of you, when you don't even know her that well). The only reason Kodansha is willing to put up with this degrading premise is because it is a web comic that established a huge presence, so it might begrudgingly stay for at least a year.

Most of the 90s and 00s?
Not even close. The 00s in particular had some of the worst shit that ever graced the magazine especially in 2007 up until the end of the decade.

I don't really mind it so far. The first few chapters have given me a couple of small laughs. Speaking of popular authors on Twitter, I thought a little while back that they were considering moving either Boku no Kanojo wa Saikoudesu or Nagatoro into the main magazine since both of them had a few weeks worth or appearances in WSM. However, now I'm guessing that they'll stay where they are for now since Danshi was added.
