As the title says, what day does Young Jump usually come out? (For us, not Japan)

Moved topic to the General Manga section as it's more appropriate here. ^^ ~ WL

Re: What day does Young Jump come out?

Looks like on the 18th and 4th of every month, as it is a bimonthly (I believe?) magazine.

Not my favorite anthology, not even close, but WYJ has some good series.

Nononono
Sidooh
Real
Zetman
Rozen Maiden Tales (I'm a few chapters behind on it)

I finished reading Elfen Lied long ago.
Usogui too but there has not been any scans in a long time.

Re: Weekly Young Jump (Seinen Mag by Shueisha)

What surprises me about WYJ is how few of the current series are licensed. REAL and Gantz are the only I can think of. Even after expanding their Signature line VIZ has clearly favored Shogakukan. Maybe it's to make up for whoring WSJ, dunno :p

At some point I expect Liar Game and Zetman to be released. Both would be nice additions VIZ Sig. Past that: I don't know. Sports series don't get licensed anymore, so no Nononono. I can't really think of anything else that will take precedent, at least with VIZ, over Shogakukan seinen. Or smaller publishers like Ohta Books and Hakusensha.

I'm reading:

Liar Game (On-hold, ch.17)
Gantz (On-hold, ch.308)
Kamen Teacher.

Besides these three I haven't read anything besides smaller series (Like Alive! and Hot Milk) and one-shots.

So i was checking out coverland for nononono raws and they had the finale chapter up. It looks like no x4 was canceled since the wiki has it as ended.

Aw. I liked the little bit I read of it. Sad to see it go like that, unless it was intentional. Guess I've gotta catch up now to find out, huh?

From what cookie_on_fire said in the Nono thread the ending seems rushed, like it was canceled.

Damn. How long was it, total? It's been around a while, right? I wonder what would make them cancel it...

Yea so weird the last chapter was like a parody. Seems that the main character was put on a bus.

Re: Weekly Young Jump (Seinen Mag by Shueisha)

Seems odd. I subscribe to Young Jump, Nono no No usually ranks around the lower half but it's not last or anything. It usually ranks around the same range as Kokou no Hito. But then again, the TOCs in YJ are much less effectual than in the really competitive magazines like Jump where being near the bottom means you'll get canceled if you stay there for 10 weeks.

I think what's usually at the top is Gantz (which is always first if it's in the magazine), Kingdom, B Kata H Kei, Shin Salaryman Kintarou, Usogui, Deliver Cinderella, and REAL (When it's in the magazine).

I think Zetman is usually around the middle. Though that one has infrequent serialization, too. So does Rozen Maiden. Captain Tsubasa is in that area, too.
But I don't read most series besides Kokou no Hito and Gantz, and ordering subscriptions online end up not showing up until a week after the street release date, sometimes a few days later.

Re: Weekly Young Jump (Seinen Mag by Shueisha)

Hm. Ok, well I'm checking the Japanese YJ wikipedia page. This seems to be the current status of each current series as of last issue, in order of when they started:

REAL (Inoue Takehiko) 1999 Issue 48 (Irregular serialization)
GANTZ (Oku Hiroya) 2000 Issue 4-5 (Mid-way it became bi-weekly)
Kareinaru Shokutaku/Addicted to Curry (Funatsu Kazuki) 2001 Issue 7
ZETMAN (Katsura Masakazu) 2002 Issue 48
TOUGH (Saruwatari Tetsuya) 2003 Issue 35 (A continuation series of Koukou Tekken Den Tough)
B Kata H Kei (Sanri Youko) 2004 Issue 20
Countach (Umezawa Haruto) 2004 Issue 41
LIAR GAME (Kaitani Shinobu) 2005 Issue 12 (Irregular concentrated serializaion)
Kingdom (Hara Yasuhisa) 2006 Issue 9
Usogui (Sako Toshio) 2006 Issue 24
81 Diver (Shibata Yokusaru) 2006 Issue 41
Beshari-Gurashi (Morita Masanori) 2007 Issue 7 (Moved from Weekly Shonen Jump. Biweekly.)
Hetakoi (Nakano Jyunko) 2007 Issue 8 (Monthly)
Nono no No (Okamoto Lynn) 2007 Issue 47- 2011 Issue 23
Kokou no Hito (Based on Original Story by: Nitta Jirou, Original Authors: Nabeta Yoshio - Takano Hiroshi, Artist: Sakamoto Shinichi) 2007 Issue 48 (The story author changed a couple times early on. Since Volume 5 Sakamoto Shinichi has done everything. The series has a tenancy to take off a week every 5-10 weeks.)
Samurai Soldier (Yamamoto Yuuichirou) 2008 Issue 13
Rozen Maiden (PEACH-PIT) 2008 Issue 20 (Monthly, moved from Comic Buzz)
Delivery Cinderella (NON) 2010 Issue 6
Heisei Policemen!! (Inaba Soohee) 2010 Issue 8
Captain Tsubasa - Kaigai Kekidou-Hen - En La Liga (Takahashi Yoichi) 2010 Issue 11
Shin Salaryman Kintarou Jyunfudou (Motomiya Hiroshi) 2010 Issue 18
Otome no Hozoshita (Madoka Machiko) 2010 Issue 19
Bakamono no Subete (Muraoka Yuu) 2010 Issue 23
Hana to Shura (Original Author:Tanimoto Kazuhiro, Manga:Inoue Noriyoshi) 2010 Issue 29
Sekiei Ayakashi Mangatan (Kawai Takanori) 2010 Issue 32
Youki no Chokkyuu (Nobe Toshio) 2010 Issue 34
Shuukan Hajimete no Hatsune Miku (Hayashi Kentarou) 2010 Issue 40
Destroy and Revolution (Mori Kouji) 2010 Issue 47
Gowlingirl (Fujii Yoshiya) 2010 Issue 49

Hm, so actually quite a few are very recent. I hadn't realized that. I guess it's because Young Jump usually reserves their covers for models rather than stuff about series. With a few exceptions like when a series that was on hiatus comes back.

Re: Weekly Young Jump (Seinen Mag by Shueisha)

Nakayama Atsushi is looking for assistants for his next serialization. I dunno if it's for Young jump or anything like that, but since it's advertised on their site, I think it's safe to assume he's going to be headed here. Perhaps he plans to serialize that one shot from a while back?

Saitama,
Guys around 30 (Or lower) preferred.
Proficiency in Comic studio preferred.
Be prepared to work 3~4 days a week. (Stay overs possible.)

Anyone here up for it? :-P Lol.
