So Shadows House had an anime adaptation announced. Naturally this means that people've heard of the series for the first time, meaning some are curious enough to check it out from the beginning, which means backlog sales.

Well Shadows House has always been speculated to have larger digital sales since the digital releases online are in full color, so more people probably read it on that

Hopefully it gets a more proper boost when the anime airs proper. I need to get back to reading the manga now...

Yeah, this was something that I recently learned on here. You could buy a fully-colored digital version of the series instead of just the black-and-white physical versions, so many fans probably go for that. This explains a lot of things, such as it getting an anime adaptation by it's 6th volume despite being on the far lower end of physical WYJ sales. xD

From what I see online, the series is a seriously hidden gem, too.

Wow, Kubo’s got two color pages in a row. I wonder how many color pages this makes in total, actually? Including lead colors. I don’t think 100 Girlfriends don’t have as many.

Oooh, interesting! I hope it’s still selling and growing - it’s nice that the series has 300K copies in print but at the same time Kubo’s been selling a lot more and only has 250K right now.

...well, not actually that shocked. I’m happy it’s getting a third season though. Depending on the length, Chapter 136 or Chapter 160 are just the best stopping points in general for that. This is going to break Reddit, at the very least.

And with this, Young Jump’s top three current sellers all have their third anime seasons. Shadows House has also been gifted one. Not sure who’ll be next. Could be Genki-kun. Could be Snack Basue. Still think Kowloon onwards is too early for now, but by the end of 2021, all of them will be ripe.

Shadows House also seems like it's doing well enough to be placed in a ranking outside of the rest of the grouping shown above.
