The US manga companies are too lazy to license anything more than 10 volumes unfortunately.

More like over 40 volumes will intimidate even a company like Viz and historical type manga don't sell that well in the US. The most surprising license for a long series lately was Yen Press and Yowapeda, but sports manga have gotten a renewed interest in them. If something big happened for historical manga, then maybe.
