During my time translating D.Gray-Man, I have received messages from typesetters, saying that my translations where too hard to correctly fit into their RAWs. Thus, I have continuously developed a system to make the texts both fast to write and fast to typeset. While I have already been using many aspects of it in my recent translations, the rules of the system where only mentioned when I first used them, making it time-consuming for new scanlation groups to get them all.
This is a compilation of everything there is to the system as of DGM 105.
1. Description of Speech Bubbles
When a character says something over more than one consecutive bubble, the syntax is as follows:

Jasdebi: 1: That's vaporware! 2: And it sucks!
So, what Allen said, was written in 2 separate speech bubbles. The speech bubbles get consecutive numbers in the order of appearance (Top to bottom, right to left), until somebody else says something or until the end of the page.
When a character says something in only one speech bubble (even if it is divided) it's written like this:

Allen: I'm wearing women's underwear Line breaks are used to separate text in one bubble.
When I'm done checking everything, I might decide to print the speakers name in bold to improve readability, like this:

2. Out-of-Bubble Text
In DGM, you sometimes come across text that is written by hand and outside (or in a corner) of the speech bubbles, usually funny remarks by the mangaka.
In that case, and in that case only, the position of the text is described between the preceding and the succeeding balloon. Like this:

The following tags are used, which are not to be included as spoken text in the scanlation:
<Blah Blah> These are my comments. Posting them in the discussion page is for plebs.
<EOP X> (where X is a number) - End of Panel X If a panel contains a lot of balloons by different speakers or if the bubbles are hard to match with the text for some other reason, I may choose to help the typesetter(s) by inserting this tag, marking the end of a particularly hard panel.
(aeml) - Add Exclamation Marks to Liking I put this one in if (as it frequently happens in battles) a character speaks in a way that any number of exclamation marks is justified to describe the tone the corresponding sentence is spoken in.

I have thought about this for some time and decided to translate the last Hellsing chapter. BUT: I am in a quite comfortable position here. The great guys at Hiranomoe work their asses off every month go get you HQ scanlations of any chapter, no matter how unspectacular, and I only take the "juicy bits", the final chapter everybody wants to read. They deserve all the praise and the page hits. Therefore this translation is not free for scanlation unless Hiranomoe agree to let you do one.
I hope no one of the Hiranomoe guys (and gals) will have any hard feelings towards me for this.
I'll start with the rough work, and maybe do onomatopoeia when I'm done.
Also note, that I'm not back to translating, I still study at a German university. Not learning enough could mean getting kicked out for good.

Keep in mind, that this version is updated automatically every minute or so. All the embarrassing mistakes one usually gets out before posting anything may still be in.
And to scanlators: If you use an unfinished version of one of my translations (and I'm not stopping you) then please mention in the credits that you did so. Last week Franky House published a scanlation I was very embarrassed about. It was from before Ewino and I got rid of the language issues.
Thanks again to ewino - last week he did his very first scan, and he did a tremendous job - at the scan as well as when he helped me with the typos.

I basically translated this from scratch, but I've read passages of Rei's translation, so I can't rule out that I might have been influenced at some points, so I give her credit.
The reason why I stopped translating is mostly, that Carlos' translations have gotten pretty good. And I had less time, because I took my final school exams. Now I'm studying aerospace engineering, so you can guess how much time that leaves me. I translated this one mostly because I wanted to show you guys, that I'm still there, after I wasn't asked for a comment in the yearbook (that kind of hit me, but on the other hand some greater translators weren't asked either).

This is one of my first manga translations and I'm not an english native speaker, so bear with some mistakes.
As with Japanese I think I have a good textbook knowledge of the language. (I can also speak but that's less important for translations)
Also note, that the trans is quite free, since translations from japanese are imperfect by definition. Translating just the words and the structure does not make an english text.
The translation is free for redistribution, but If you have an IRC channel, I'd like to get a voice (or better) there, if you use it for a scanlation.
