Here we are. The end of yet another series. This brings my grand total of finished manga to...what...Yellow Dragon, and...this. I've finished two series despite having 700 translations. That...is kind of an issue. I mean seriously. With 700 translations you'd think I'd have at least a dozen or more finished series, but then again I'm sorta pathetic I guess. Dunno. Or maybe I still have too much of a life to like stick with this stuff? (lol.) Eh, who knows.

In any case, my patheticness aside, Dolls Folklore is done. It was an interesting series that I picked up out of boredom. I want to believe that the ending was the result of the the author's intentions moreso than it being cancelled, but I dunno. It had just the right amount of loose ends dealt with to suggest this was planned, but enough potential to suggest that it if had been more popular it could have gone on longer. Either way I enjoyed doing it, though some of the techno (or fantasy) babble was like 'Tales of series' confusing. In the end though, I do like that the characters have some sorta closing, and that Yousuke decided to save the person who saved him rather than get all concerned about such stuff as the whole world. People are conceited creatures with tunnel vision that have enough trouble saving themselves much less someone else and the damn world. While the altruistic hero makes for better entertainment, there's something real about the dude who abandons that sort of thinking to save the girl...or friend or something.

So enjoy Doll's folklore. Oyamada Yousuke
The lone survivor of the 'Hamilin Incident'. The toy beam saber he has is what manifests his torcher.

Saburou's little sister whom uses Shikigami at will. She shoulders the support of the battle plan. She uses shikigami to conduct all of her conversations as well.
Adachigahara Saburou
The commander of the Makina subjugation battle plan. His ability allows him to take over space using a photograph. It is called 'lost memory'. Although he is normally calm and collected he has a habit of being a siscon.
Tachibana Mukade
Chief of the doll administration bureau, and Kanno’s uncle. His ability is ‘Sukeprabaz’ which can create ‘substitutes’.

A monster which is a condensation of people's thoughts made reality. Cannot be seen by normal people. These 'thoughts' are what people tend to talk about as 'rumored stories' (=aka folklore). It is these folklore that decide their power, though without them (the folkore) they cannot exist.

Hamilin Incident.
10 years before in Kurotsuka city there was a serial children disappearance case. In one month's time 108 children suddenly disappeared. This unsolved case has been transmitted to current events. At the same time, a six year old boy remained behind as the only witness.
Yousuke: I know back then..
She had to have told me her name....
{The story up until now: Yousuke secrely becomes a member of the Misaki agency’s doll administration bureau. What is the ‘promise’ shared between him and Makina? What is Kanno’s reason for wanting to be rid of Makina? Confronted with many questions and doubts Yousuke gets involved with his ability, the origin of which is ‘a power that can protect anyone’. He gains confidence and manages to grow up. Though soon he was confronted with the giant doll who comes out on the ‘End of the day of loathing’, who’s power dwarfs his with overwhelming pressure. Kanno is captured and seems to resign to her fate, until Chief Tachibana plays his final trump card and has Souma Kei summoned. He is thrown into the battle, coming from the lower annals of the Misaki agency where he was kept. This man is the culprit behind the ‘Hamilin incident…!!’ Yousuke’s feelings on the matter are complicated, but he decides to put them aside so that he can save Kanno with Souma’s help. However it seems that Kanno has already succumbed to the demonic reach of the end of the day of loathing…?!}

The commander of the Makina subjugation battle plan. His ability allows him to take over space using a photograph. It is called 'lost memory'. Although he is normally calm and collected he has a habit of being a siscon.

A monster which is a condensation of people's thoughts made reality. Cannot be seen by normal people. These 'thoughts' are what people tend to talk about as 'rumored stories' (=aka folklore). It is these folklore that decide their power, though without them (the folkore) they cannot exist.

Hamilin Incident.

10 years before in Kurotsuka city there was a serial children disappearance case. In one month's time 108 children suddenly disappeared. This unsolved case has been transmitted to current events. At the same time, a six year old boy remained behind as the only witness.

Yousuke: I know back then..

She had to have told me her name....

{The story up until now: Since the incident 10 years ago, Yousuke has found himself being the target of dolls on a daily basis. It is then that a girl who exterminates Dolls with a 'torcher' named Kanno appeared. Kanno opposes dolls for the 'Misaki agency' which she is a member of, and during a pursuit of a doll, the seal for the ultimate evil doll Makina is broken. She is the splitting image of the girl who protected Yousuke 10 years ago. Yousuke manifests his 'torcher' and and releases her from the seal, after which she infects him with her 'marking'. Since dolls seems to be drawn to Yousuke's 'marking', it is the Misaki agency's plan to use this to attract Makina and capture her. Unfortunately before her power Kanno is gravely injured and Yousuke is left in a bad situation. Just when the situation is at it's most dire, Makina says 'Yo-chan, I'll protect you'. What could the meaning behind her words be...?!}
