So that's it! 141 chapters --all translated by me. It took an extra year (almost) after the series ended to get all of this done but I'm glad I stuck with it. Saike is...well, I wouldn't say it's Fukuchi's best series since I still think I like Anagle more, but I do believe that it's Fukuchi's strongest series with the most powerful message about heroism and the right to make mistakes. I'll admit that things got a little weird from time to time, and Fukuchi himself said he only really planned about six volumes before filling in the blanks from there, but overall Saike is a series I can readily recommend to everyone. It was really emotional translating these last two volumes but I enjoyed every moment of it. I'll be stepping away from translating as much as I usually do (But I'll still be around!!) since I do like the craft. I'd like to thank all of you for reading through this long and hope you'll experience Saike once again via my translations. As always it's been a pleasure. See you again.

I'd be really surprised if Fukuchi doesn't somehow tie both series together, but so far it has yet to show that connection. Either way this final volume is less "climatic battle" and more of a victory lap for Fukuchi's second longest series.

And once again I managed to finish a volume in a week. I was thinking maybe I wouldn't be able to finish Saike this year but I think if I take a break tomorrow and resume on Sunday then maybe it might be possible after all...in any case this volume was a big one in terms of the story (well that figures seeing that the next one is the last) and while the Will arc wasn't the best part (I'd say volumes 7-9 were the apex of Saike as a story), it was interesting to see a sort of subversion of the typical "I want to be different" story that shounen manga often spin. I actually did want to translate the extras for this one since they're pretty interesting but I think I'll focus on translating the series first and come back to those when it's done. There are several Heliports dotting the island, and it is here hidden among these homes that Will has constructed a stronghold for himself. And after two million years, volume 11 is done. I don't know what to say other than "sorry" that things got this bad off, but I guess it is only two volumes away from Japanese releases so that's something....I have been doing stuff behind the scenes but I'm glad to finally be back in my "arena" so to speak with manga TL's. You all may or may not know this but Saike is on it's final arc in the pages of weekly shounen Sunday, and while I'm sad to see it go, I kind of think it's done everything it can do without stretching itself thin. Really, translating this knowing what I do know will happen in the next two volumes puts a unique spin on things I think, too. Anyway I hope to be back with at least the entirety of volume twelve before the year is out. Thanks for being patient, and I'll see you....once again.
PS. I really don't like that translation of the chapter title but I couldn't think of a better one. Don't be surprised if changes mysteriously....
