But apparently today there's some shrine he's worshiped in anyway.

Okay maybe not, but it's still one of those tall tales, like tsuchinko. It's also called Shichifujya...actually that makes more sense to me, because that pronunciation sounds like 7 step curse. Anyway, it's said to be some kind of rainbow snake with 4 legs and is so poisonous that its trademark bite will kill you in seven steps. Don't go near this pokemon.

oh, and it's actually ITSUMADEN, but the n is dropped probably because it was from dialect. As far as I can tell the kanji only bear phonetic significance, they don't carry any meaning.
Itsumaden? = "how much longer". The reason for this cry came from the tale that this monster would hover over bodies that died from war and famine and wait for the bodies to be abandoned so it could eat them. That's why it keeps whining, "how much longer". Personal note - Not sure where myths like this come from but, I have the feeling it was people's reaction to birds of prey that fed on corpses. Most likely since wars would leave fields littered with bodies, people grew fearful of birds that fed on flesh, and named them monsters. And i'm sure you know how stories take on lives of their own as they're passed on...
Also, the wiki said that part about being abandoned, but abandoned by what? I think it means the soul, since eastern religions teach immortality of the soul. *************

Got it. They're daggers/hand swords. I think this rank is based on size. The Korambit is about 20cm length, and comes from sumatra (indonesia). The name means "tiger claws"? apparently made by the menangkabau people. The yatagan is a turkish sword, about 70cm avg length, circa 16-19th centuries. ...makes you wonder what rank 1 is. A claymore? ***********

EDITS: A few minor fixes/improvements on pages 6, 16, 23, 28, and 30. In addition, I finally found the damn "you" kanji from "Yoma", so the relevant translator notes on pages 29 and 40 have been updated to reflect that.
And another edit: I somehow managed to miss a panel on Page 42. It's now been added in >.<
