Commentary:
Shunkyou Setsuku…there are many secret Ougi, even in Chinese Kenpou, which has a basis on nimble movements, but among them, the highest peak of them is Shunkyou Setsuku. The training method for this technique is the rough method of running with wonderful speed on top of insoluble pieces of paper that are floating on a pond of sulfuric acid and where there should be the terror of instant death if you fail. Those who accomplish this and reach the range of master are said to move 20 Ken (approximately 36m) in a wink.

This is a digression, but “Kakesoba”, which is intimate to all of us, had it’s name get it’s origin with soba that the trainees, who were frugal with the time in which they sat and ate it in those days, brought with containers and ate it while running.

TN: About...friggin...time! After all the build-up and hype regarding their rivalry, Edajima and Toudou had their showdown...and it did not disappoint. (well it could have been longer but we're at the end of the arc so you have to cut some corners) One thing I found really peculiar and interesting though was simply this: with Edajima's specialty in combat purely being brawn and overwhelming strength, Toudou is depicted as a master of speed and agility, which is the exact opposite style of strategy compared to someone who works so bluntly. (like...well, Edajima) Heck, it was actually rather impressive considering that Edajima had to use the unconventional strategy of "destroy the ground preventing any foothold from being held by Toudou at all...with his head". But then again, the Principal is always unconventional regarding how he fights...but that's Otokojuku in general. Toudou's comments at the start though were sort of weird and spooky: considering Edajima's power, he could have had anything he ever desired just like him...but instead chose to become the Principal of some school that wasn't even on the map in concerns of things until this tourney. It's really tough to wonder or say why Edajima chose to be a Principal instead of a politician or remain a soldier that could have brought down America, but that probably could be told at another time. Even he has his secrets...even if they're hard to crack. (compared to...well, the ground) But hey, with all that's going on, we just need to close up shop before I go too long...
