Re: Whitebeard Strongest in the World?
After 2 Weeks Im finally back, I know no-one cares about that xD paradox good job in finding this thread.
I will go with WB as
the current strongest (in term of fighting), who would win everyone in a fair 1vs1 fight. His title was given by ODA by fading in a infobox. The purpose of this infobox is to give information about the character. Its similar to datebooks, which gives informations about characters which in some cases won't be shown in the manga. Its not like some character talked about WB and stated him as the strongest, like with Jimbei of being the strongest Shichi.
No rumour, no legend, no myth it is clear fact stated by Oda himself. If u deny Oda then stop reading OP.
Want my arguement of why Whitebeard is the strongest? His crew is the strongest. I'm not going to go off Oda's flashcard or comparing fights of slightly related pirates and marines, but the impression Whitebeard gives to the world in general is that he is the strongest. Heck, in a 1v1 fight against other Yonkou, Admirals or a couple of the stronger Shichibukai he might lose given his current age or other factors which always affect battles when least expected.
Oda, the guy who created One Piece stated him as the strongest by a infobox, despite his age and illness. Do you think, Oda didn't know that he drew him old and ill looking? Why do u think WB wasn't seen in action so far? Probably he is going to draw many other strong character in action then he is going to come up with a ultimate fighting style for WB fitting for his title.
Besides, strength is really vague. Are you stronger if you can punch through diamond or if you can make raw strength ineffectual by having a broken Logia?
I interpret strong in term of overall fighting power. Means the one who is stated as the strongest has the best rates in factors like brutal strength, experience, speed, weapon (DF) etc. This factors are determining the outcome of a fight So "strongest" is not only restricted to brutal strength.
IF "strongest" is only restricted to brutal strength, then Mihawk is not the best swordsman, which makes Zoros efforts total worthless. .. so simple!
WB is known as the strongest, but that doesn't automatically mean he is the actual strongest. "Strongest figher in the world" is a title bestowed upon WB long before we learned about BB's actual strength, but the problem is that no one (except Shanks) knew about BB at the time. Shanks knows what he's talking about. He is the highest tier. BB not only inflicted cosmetic damage to Shanks, but mental damage as well; Shanks is very weary of BB.
You can't compare the situation with Mihawk to WB because we have no reason to doubt Mihawk's title as we do with WB. We know BB outfought a Yonkou ten years ago. BB 10 years ago = far weaker than BB now. He ate a super DF. A DF of the strongest type but special even to them. He even became a Shichibukai despite having a 0 bounty (they're supposed to scare pirates you know) and he's the guy who is sure to be the final villain. We have every reason to believe that it's actually BB is who on top of the world right now.
As for BB, he will be probably the ultimate villain in this story and eventually take WBs position. But that is in the future, we are obviously talking about the present. WB was stated as the strongest after BB left his crew, so he had already his darkness fruit. Again, it was a infobox, it doesn't matter if he didn't showed his ability or not.
IF WB would have been introduced as the strongest before BB left his crew,
then we could talk of he being the strongest or not. But there is a clear time difference. Basically we can only doubt his title, if sth major should change.. like a big power up for BB, Shanks or any other Character. But since WBs introductions nothing was shown, his title is still valid.
