Man, you guys are so lucky you get warm/hot weather on a regular basis. Since Sunday the weather over here has been okay, I've only been wearing a jacket, but before that I had been wearing a coat all the time, dammit!!

I need to do my driving test still, I'm confident on the road since I drive around with my bro-in law all the time, so now I just need to save up, take a few lessons and do my exam.

Shit should start being universal ._. . Like MPH's should always be that instead of Km/h or like Pounds instead of kilo or °F instead of °C

It should be universal. However, if the whole world was to change to one system, the metric system would probably be a lot easier. For example:

10 millimeters = 1 centimeter
10 centimeter = 1 decimeter
10 decimeters = 1 meter
1000 meters = 1 kilometer

instead of

12 inches = 1 foot
3 feet = 1 yard
1760 yards = 1 mile

I don't know, perhaps it's that I've grown up with it, but a system where everything is multiplied or divided by ten seems easier to count with than.. well, I don't even know if there's a pattern in the american one..

^ I think everybody but the states use the metric system. Though over here you might sometimes see the imperial measurements. Bah anyway the only one that confuses me is Fahrenheit instead of Celsius. It always takes me a couple of seconds to realise the person is speaking in Fahrenheit and is not crazy.

That is why people say the US needs to open their eyes. We always want to be different, but don't realize that it just makes us look more like holes. Dont get me wrong though, there are certain things the US does that i think other countries need to do as well.

that reminds me, didn't NASA have a have a huge problem with some satellite going off-course a while ago? Like they launched it, and it went in a completely different direction than what they intended. And it turns out that the people who did the calculations weren't using just one metric system lol

Hasn't Obama said a while ago that he plans to lower the funds available for space exploration and focus more on what's actually happening in the country. That's a good idea; because you could never think about going on holiday whilst your mortgage or rent for that month wasn't paid would you? not sure it's the greatest example but I think ever country should try and make sure things are good for their own people before spending taxpayers money on missions that may or may not be successful.

But a country needs development, in all fields. It is good to spend money on the population and make sure that people can actually pay for rent and food, however without research, development, and explorartion a country will never grow. Some of the best things today were discovered/created by accident.

Yeah, and I'm not saying they should cut off all research or anything like that, but I mean there's many more urgent matters on ones own soils before going to space. Research is essential for moving forward, otherwise we would be stuck in I dunno what kinda situations...
