Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2010] - Discussion and TOC Talk

*Drowns in sorrow after reading that Sket Dance won't be getting a cover nor an announcement...*

Its just not fair! Sure a Beezle-Toriko cover sounds great (especially if its something like the Reborn!-DGM cover celebrating their anime adaptations), but Sket Dance really deserves a cover after 3 years and winning the Shogakugan Award :(. What's worse is that it's not even getting an anime adaptation announcement...

At least the Naruto cover is cool, especially seeing as it features a young Might Guy :)!

That's pathetic but hey, color pages for Sket is still better than nothing. I guess they rather hype the latest OVAs for Toriko & Beezle though...which sort of makes sense with how obsessed with hot-blooded stuff Jump feels like at times. (if this was Magazine or Sunday, Sket probably would have gotten a cover for something like this)

I wished the cover was about the flashback rather than the new movie :C

It's still an ok cover. The color page was very nice though.

But that color splash for the chapter? I liked that a lot.

A bottom 5 I can't really complain about. Kuroko has been there a month and WSJ finally appears to have decided it no longer needs anymore bailouts which it doesn't.

Metallica spends its 2nd week in last place.

Of course I'm happiest about Medaka escaping the bottom 5 two weeks in a row. The Medaka vs. Miyakonojou fight must have given it a boost these past two weeks. Still can't wait to see if Kumagawa and Hitomi have any similar positive effects or not.

Kawashita's poster of Jump heroines should be interesting. I especially want to see Amamiya, Himeko, and Medaka assuming its just the current ones.

The Otters 11 spin-off should be great. The fanbase has been wanting spin-offs for some of the manga they showed in Bakuman.

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2010] - Discussion and TOC Talk

It does seem peculiar we're getting a Kawashita poster of Jump heroines. If it is the recent ones it should be...interesting. (heck, even more so if we dive into the past...heck, I wouldn't mind her trying the Kimagure Orange Road girls since...well, it probably is one of the only other major Jump romance series)

As for the bottom 5: excluding KochiKame, it seems pretty weird. Shikku and Mettaluca continue to bomb, Kuroko is lower and Gintama just continues with it's weird patterns as of late. (and Psyren...is Psyren, nothing to see here)

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2010] - Discussion and TOC Talk

Well Metallica and Shikku are dead. Sadly kuroko hasn't been doing well latelly.

Gintama is in the botom T_T oh well I guess it's just for a week so it doesn't really matter.

Man Obata and Ohba really are awesome. We should get a crow, trap, natural, two worlds and a lot more of spin offs from bakuman ^-^ at least that covers from Bakuman's abcense sisnce we'll be 3 weeks without a chapter this month.

I hope to see some Ichigo 100% heroines in the poster like Satsuki ^-^

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2010] - Discussion and TOC Talk

Kinda excited for the Otters spin-off. Not big on the idea of them doing every manga in Bakuman, would seem like overkill to me.

Sucks Shikku is still bombing but what you gonna do? *shrugs* Kuroko is having it rough lately. Wonder if it will pull up or not. Other than that pretty normal actually. Psyren and Gintama always visits from time to time so nothing new there...and Metallica....yeah.

For Bakuman spin-off, I rather want to read PCP or True Human than Otter.

And too bad on Metallica and Shikku, I just started to enjoy both of them.

I am looking forward to an otter soin-off, but I would have liked crow or pcp more..well whatever ^^;

I think Metallica and Shikku are done for...Shikku was again just a manga for the world cup, now that it is over, shikku will die...

What the!? There's going to be an Otter spin-off!? Seriously!? YES :D!! Thruthfully I'd rather read a PCP or Trap spin-off, but Otter's going to be hilarious :D!!

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2010] - Discussion and TOC Talk

IMHO, the most thrilling spin-off from Ohba and Obata's works in Bakuman, is: "Money and Intelligence".

That was pure genuis. When I first red about it, the overall concept and plot captivated me so much that I would end up thinking to myself: "Why in heaven didn't they make a Manga about this instead. . ." Frankly the potential that story holds is high. And it may end up being as iconic as Death-Note if they ever work on it.
