He has no choice to buy older and more experienced players rather than the young inexperienced players he usually buys. You can't say it's not really his fault, though all of the blame isn't his, he should know by now that Arsenal's defense sucks and needs a lot of work... inexperienced players isn't gonna fix that. But imo it isn't Wenger's fault. He lost important players and he hasn't really got new ones. Wenger is a great coach, and i always found Arsenal's gameplay one of the most interesting. I hope he"survives" this rough phase.

I'm not blaming Wenger for the lost game but the way Manchester showed them their place got me worried about the team's ambition. With Fabregas and Nasri gone they need someone to fill the gap because it's a huge one and I know that it won't be an easy task. But nonetheless I faith in Wenger because he is the one, who made Fabregas and Nasri into world class players in the first place. The first thing the he needs to do is to stabilize the defense.

Shame that you guys got Arteta just now....wenger should've gone for him a long time ago. It would've been awesome to see a nasri, fabre, arteta and rosicky midfield.

I think Arteta and Mertesacker were very good purchases. It's sad that wenger left it so late tbh. Everton only have like cahill left for creative play.

QPR got some bargains on the last day of transfers. Oh and I have a strange feeling that Modric will leave Spurs in January. Stoke shouldn't of bought Crouch. What a waste of money. He's so shit. 12 million for that lanky ******** *** ** ** **** ***!

Despite the last minute purchases Arsenal have made, I don't think it'll be good enough to for them to get that fourth place. The player's we got are past their best I think; even Arteta.

I think it will be enough. Arsenal finally have players that actually look like defenders and have experience. The only think I'm worried about is if those said players will fit in fast enough. They got another good striker which I think they needed, their midfield still needs work though imo.

Next Tuesday Porto is going to face Shaktar, and it's going to be a very difficult game without any doubts.
I also will see if i can watch on Wednesday Benfica vs Manchester United.

Today i might check a bit of Chelsea and Manchester City game, so i can have a more precise idea about their strength.

Watching QPR vs Newcastle atm...nothing special. Like I didn't expect it to be anyway.


It's been fast pace end to end play but the actual football playing style is just so poor tonight. Schoolboy football in the yard kinda play xD. SWP was a great addition to the QPR squad though. He's definitely made a difference to their attacking options. Shame that they haven't got a decent forward/striker. ;(

There are some really good CL games coming up. All starting at the same times as well. >< Group fixtures this season are going to be AWESOME!!!

Tomorrow night, I'll be looking forward to the following games:

Borussia Dortmund v Arsenal
Barcelona v AC Milan
Chelsea v Bayer Leverkusen
Olympiakos v Marseille

Clearly the ones that matter hahaha. xD

I am happy to see that Chelsea won. Even though like every other Porto supporter i feel a bit betrayed by Villas-Boas i think he is a very skilled coach, and he has a lot of potential to be one of the best coaches of the actuality, so i wish that he manages to make a very good season, and i only don't wish him to win if somehow Chelsea ends facing Porto

About the game yesterday, Porto is becoming stronger and stronger each game. Our midfield is definitely one of the bests we ever had, and we have an huge ammount of options. João Moutinho is without doubts the best player, but we still have Defour, that some years ago was wanted my soccer teams like Real Madrid and Manchester United, that is starting to integrate very well on the team. We also have Guarin, that his without any doubts a very skilled player, that has a lot of skills ... we have Bellushi that his without any doubts the most creative player and still helps giving stability to the defence ... we have Fernando, which nickname ("Octopus") really shows how good and important he is retrieving the ball from the other teams and giving the defence an huge and important help.

And i have to say that last year i never thought this kid would be so good, but he is making our offensive much stronger, and is without any doubts one of the most skilled and talented young players. I am talking about James Rodriguez !! If he continues this way, it's going to be difficult for Porto to maintain him (clause of 45 Millions) . He has only 19 years old, and yesterday made again a very good game, being one of the best players of the game, like happened on the two previous games that he made for the Portuguese league.
And we have Hulk on the other side, that doesn't need any introduction at all, and made a fantastic goal. Though he missed the opportunity to score a penalty

If we still had Falcao .... we would be a lot stronger ... but Kléber has potential, and at least he made what is importing which is ... scoring.

Our defence yesterday had an easier night than expected, because of the expelled guy around the 44º minute. But though we were controlling the game, Shakhtar offense is really something ... and our defence trembled almost all the times they attacked. Having to play with Maicon instead of Rolando, helped on that

What is important is that Porto managed to win this game. And i was surprised to see that Zenit lost against Apoel

I wasn't that satisfied with Dortmund yesterday we dominated Arsenal throughout the game, they didn't have that many chances to score but they still did it. Thanks to the mistake of our captain, who is the most experienced one in the team. You see a big difference between Dortmund and Arsenal even though Dortmund dominated, Arsenal still scored. They used their few opportunities to score, whereas Dortmund had to resort to Perisic well done volley kick at the last minute.

Even though the draw is important for the team's moral I as a fan feel like we lost 2 points, especially when you consider that many players from Arsenal were injured. For example Wilshere, Ramsey, Rosicky and Vermaelen just to name a few. I hope that in the next game against Marseille they'll be more coldhearted and use their chances more efficient. Only then I think that we'll advance to the next round.

@jorped: I think that Porto needs a little time to compensate for Falcao but nonetheless you still got Hulk. That guy is amazing he was to 'precise' when he shot the penalty but other then that I can't complain about him. I still don't understand why he doesn't play for the brazilian national team? You're goalkeeper needs to be more confindent in himself otherwise that goal would have never happened. That was definetly his mistake.

Even if it was Porto against Manchester i still think "Portugal" would loose .... so i don't really expect Benfica to win, that is clearly less strong than Porto. But as Kakashi said, on football any thing can happen, so it's possible that Benfica is able to stop MU, specially because the game is at their stadium and Benfica is normally stronger at his stadium, where he has a lot of support.

And CSKA Moscow ?
You should support Porto this year !

It's actually impressive how Porto manages to get this players and evolve them so much. Last year though he was already good .... i never thought he would turn into this .... but i guess i should have wait for him to get more adapated to the European and specially the Portuguese way of playing. Only 19 and on that video we see some stuff he did on the Sub-20 WorldCup and on the 2 first official games of this season, that happened last week. If you guys want to see more of this magician, check out yesterday's match against Shakhtar.
I can't help to think how huge help would have been for Porto to have him against Barcelona. It would be so much dangerous for them, than with Cristian Rodriguez or Varela.

I think Dortmund will advance further, at least if they are able to show their potential. I agree with you,they dominated and yet it's just a draw, I was disappointed too (I'm not from Dortmund but still they played excellent last season).

Bayern München dominated too, Villareal never had a chance. If they manage to get in more of their scoring chances they definitely could become one of the favourites.

And Porto well they are good but I honestly can't imagine them coming that far

I was actually quite disappointed with this week's CL games tbh. Hmmm apart from the Barca x Milan game that is. xDD!

I seriously thought Dortmund would score at least two goals. They had more chances and generally played A LOT better than Arsenal. They just had a lucky break and Van Persie managed to capatilize on a silly pass. The defence should've done better when they lost the ball but it happens. I was lmao when Napoli scored. I knew Cavani would bag at least one goal on the night. City were lucky to get a goal back dammit. -.-

Benfica were fricking hard against Utd. They played really well and it was actually entertaining to watch their breaks and counter attacks. It would be Giggs to shine for us when we're in need of a goal so so badly.

I honestly can't wait to watch Villareal Vs. Napoli! That's going to be an awesome match!

Benfica were fricking hard against Utd. They played really well and it was actually entertaining to watch their breaks and counter attacks. It would be Giggs to shine for us when we're in need of a goal so so badly.

I watched my rival's team and i happy with their performance. It's actually very unfair the result of the game, cuz though Benfica let Manchester "control" the game, they are the ones that created a lot of opportunities where they could have scored. Ferguson might be one of the best coach ever, but his "plan" didn't fail only because Benfica missed a lot of opportunities. Ferguson underestimated Benfica ! Benfica on their house is incredibly strong .... and Ferguson should have used since the beginning the "best" players. I know they have a very important game against Chelsea .... but the way i see it Ferguson isn't even afraid of Benfica and thinks that whatever was the result he would always manage to surpass it in the end. I just hope that in the end ... somehow Benfica manages to get the first position

Yeah i also wonder if De Gea would have done such a good exhibition. I found the fact that Manchester bought a goalkeeper by 20 M ridiculous. I don't really understand how some teams spend a lot of money with Goalkeepers, when there are, even better ones that would come for much cheaper prices.
