Yeah, I was thinking about those when I made that previous post. I just didn't felt like searching for them.True, not many of the colour pages stand out with me. Similar to how no matter how much fan service there are on Fairy Tail's colourspreads, I don't really pay attention to them. This one fron Nanatsu I like:

There's probably another, but I stopped looking at this point![]()
That's why I chose them, I really enjoyed reading that whole Gaiden with Ban's past with Elaine.Yeah, I was thinking about those when I made that previous post. I just didn't felt like searching for them.
Those are the only two that stand out, but the coloring is done differently compared to the other spreads and covers.
The first one has a very warm feeling to it, all the colors compliment each other some way or another, while the second one uses different styles in the background, the tree and Ban.
About Fairy Tail, I don't even notice the fanservice anymore, it was fun in the beginning, but it quickly had more fanservice than story or action.. I'm not even sure why I continued reading it all this time.
What are your thoughts about Nanatsu though? It's very cliché, but I really love those kind of shounens, reminds me a lot of the times I read MÄR, Groove Adventure Rave and The Law of Ueki. While the last two quickly became their own identities (for me, especially Ueki, my favorite shounen), I never heard of them, found them and then binge-read them like there was no tomorrow.
Really looking forward to where it's heading, I'm interested in what Diane can do with her weapon and what else she has in store. King is looking very OP at the moment, so I'm looking forward to the current fights, because he'll probably start losing first, curious what else he got.
And I'm sad they brought back Jericho (funny, and totally cliché, how they got rid of that guy who exploded though), I didn't like her.. but it seems.. okay... I guess..

It really does lolMehhhhhhhhh, this celphone camera sucks.
Anyway, which one should i drink first?
![]()
Vodka with green apple or cachaça with red apple?
I like apple juice, so i decided to try these for the first time. And also i was surprised to find those close to the end of the world.
What phone do you have?
. What will you be drinking it with?
I bought some cheap garbage at the store a few months ago. I just wanted it to play MP3 (cause i need one to use in my morning walks) and work as a cellphone. It really does lolWhat phone do you have?
Hmmm I'd choose cachaca over vodka, no matter the flavour, but since you like apple juice, then go for the vodka. What will you be drinking it with?
Also, have you ever tried to make cocktails at home?

You said it right. I just read the latest chapter and it made me think, even though I didn't think of it as anything special, it's the style. The art-style really soothes me, combined with Fairy Tail's easy-going (and happy-go-lucky routines) way, it's fun to read weekly, especially between the darker, grittier and more serious series. Fairy Tail gets read weekly by me, and it was probably the only shounen I did that with the past few months. The rest have 'baggage' and I need to 'want' to read those. I don't have that feeling with FT. Because.. it's just.. Fairy Tail, lol. That's why I chose them, I really enjoyed reading that whole Gaiden with Ban's past with Elaine.
With Fairy Tail, I'd like to say I'm only reading it because I've already given a lot of time to it but the truth is, there are still moments where I find some good chapters and funny moments. The effect of fanservice has long since gone for me, can't remember exactly when I stopped getting excited about it, but it's been a while.
I'm enjoying Nanatsu, when I began reading it, it had just started; maybe no more than 5 chapters. Koen and k-dom are the only people I knew that read it, with the latter introducing it to me. I like the setting of the story and the idea behind the Holy Knights but also that it's not just one a one dimensional level of them being strong and trained soldiers but the other means from which they've acquired their powers and the many agendas that are ongoing inside their camp.
Looking forward to where the current events will be going for sure, it's not looking good for the Sins at the moment, so I want to see how they'll get out of this one. Signs point to Diane but can she alone take on 3 Holy Knights and their apprentices? we'll see. And then there's also Meliodas; the most intriguing character in the series. So much mystery surrounding him.
What's wrong with Jericho? I find her moments with Ban quite funny.

Oh, i usually like to drink it without food. So, after dinner.
I used to make something that looked like strawberrie smoothies with cachaça. Very sweet with condensed milk. But since strawberries are expensive and rare here, i only eat them when i find them.
And, of course, i always do caipirinha. It's the national drink.![]()

. Cachaca is quite sweet, so mixing it with strawberries, I can see what that does to the drink. Strawberries are rare? Is that jsut at the end of the world where you live or Brazil as a whole? what are the common fruits in your country and state then?
That's right, it's a light-read type shounen, unlike One Piece which I read because I know something will happen and it makes my day or reading worth it. Fairy Tail has really solid art though and it can't be denied that Mashima is really talented artist. He just has a problem with delivering the final product after all the build up he does for most of the arcs. Too many hit or miss arcs overall. There has been a few fun chapters lately; especially the last special chapter was really funny. where the teams from Grand Magic Games become slaves to the other for the day.You said it right. I started reading Nanatsu just two or three days ago, when the 44th chapter was released, I was looking for something new, something shounen and it definitely satisfied me, I read it in one-go, haha. And yeah, it's not just an one-dimensional shounen, it's really cliché so far, but it has more to it than it first shows, in story-telling and in character development. Specifically the whole Holy Knights stuff, they aren't just Holy Knights and were like that since, ever. That's fun, not a lot of shounens do that anymore.
Definitely not looking good for them, but hey, I hope they bite the dust, now that we mentioned Fairy Tail I would like to see a new shounen do some more real fighting instead of what Fairy Tail always does, lol. Meliodas is certainly the most intriguing, I think I've mentioned this somewhere before. But even though he is, I don't really.. care, I guess? That's because whatever he might've been, or is. It'll not be something unexpected. Although I'm hoping it certainly will, but looking at the author's other works.. I doubt it.
And Jericho, well, like I said before, Nanatsu is rather typical in it's shounen ways and Jericho was just.. too much.. I never liked characters, situations and relationships like that, never. So when this came along, I was thinking "Oh god, let's hope he draws the line here". It'll probably work out now for some bad-ass fight, but still..
Have you read any of the other shounens I mentioned in the last post btw? I think you might like those too.

Nanatsu no Taizai. Read it. It's short, and a quick read.Whatcha talking about?

Yeah I figured hell was too hot to grow strawberriesStrawberries are rare here in the north. They need a very cool weather to grow, so we get it from the states in the south, which make them cost 3 times here.
Not many people buy it=market don't order them often. Almost like my passion fruit Fanta. I can only find it in one supermarket, but, at least, it's the same price as a coke.
Oh, and i hate touchscreen phones, so there is no way of me getting a smartphone.![]()
. I'm so fortunate that our markets are able to provide me with most of the fruits I could want. Hearing you talk about this Fanta, I need to find it. I think 2 of the supermarkets here has them.
I guess you're not really cut off, since there's Blackberrys and other handsets that still has regular mobiles, but within a few years, even those will be redundant or even less produced.Exactly that. Haha, I always wondered what happened with Mashima, Groove Adventure Rave was a fucking great shounen, Fairy Tail is nothing compared to that. Unless you want fanservice, obviously. That's right, it's a light-read type shounen, unlike One Piece which I read because I know something will happen and it makes my day or reading worth it. Nanatsu is very cliche indeed but it's such a good read that you quickly overlook and forget that when you are in the story. We've had some good potential fights so far in Nanatsu, seemingly tasters because I think the mangaka may be saving the extensive fighting for later. So far nothing has lasted more than a few chapters, despite us already meeting a few Holy Knights.
I get your point about Jericho, but for me, as long as it doesn't turn into some picky running gag but actual good fights between the 2, then I'm okay with her. I hated Geera at the beginning but her backstory has shun some light on her character but she's still the sadistic knight that I saw at first.
Those shounens I'd not even heard of before you mentioned them to be honest. Are they worth the read?![]()
It's build on great characters, action and adventure. And if you're into music, you'll find a lot of fun references. It's still one of my favorite shounens up until this day, it's of really good quality. Even for it's length. The Continent of Song is in chaos. The sinister secret society known as Demon Card is using the power of Dark Bring to destroy everything in their path. The only things capable of stopping Dark Bring are the Rave stones. Unfortunately, the Rave Stones were scattered around the globe in an explosion 50 years ago, so now they must be collected by the Rave Master in order to stop Dark Bring once and for all. This new task has been given to Haru Glory; a sixteen-year-old boy from Garage Island. The World's fate now rests on the new, young Rave Master.
Ginta Toramizu is a 14-year-old kid who doesn't have a lot going for him: he's near-sighted, doesn't do well in school, sucks at sports, and to top it off--he's short! But Ginta is a dreamer and has had the same dream 102 times, always in the same fantasy world, where he is a hero blessed with all the abilities he lacks in real life.
Then one day a supernatural figure appears at Ginta's school and summons him to a mysterious and exciting new world! In this strange universe filled with magic and wonder, he is strong, tough, agile--and he can see without his glasses! Thus, Ginta begins a mystical quest in search of the magical items known as "ÄRMS," one of which may have the power to send him home. Joining him on this epic journey are his companion Jack and the valuable living, talking, mustachioed iron-ball weapon known as "Babbo," which everyone wants but, it seems, only Ginta can possess!
The Law of Ueki tells the story of the Battle of the Supernatural Powers, a tournament to decide who will be the next King of the Celestial World. Each candidate (100 in total) is required to choose a junior high school student to act as their fighter. Each student is given a unique power--the power to change one thing into something else. The winning King of the Celestial World Candidate will become King of the Celestial World and the winning student will receive the Blank Talent (blank zai), a talent that can be anything they choose.
Gotcha. I'll check it out tomorrow. ^^Nanatsu no Taizai. Read it. It's short, and a quick read.
Rave Master is something I've wanted to read for many years; mainly because a lot of Fairy Tail members mention it in comparison to the former series. There's been a few crossover stuff done with both series and a lot of Rave characters have appeared in FT, so I'm aware of that at least.Exactly that. Haha, I always wondered what happened with Mashima, Groove Adventure Rave was a fucking great shounen, Fairy Tail is nothing compared to that. Unless you want fanservice, obviously.
Groove Adventure Rave, aka, Rave Master was his first succes, it lasted for 298 chapters (35v, '98-'05). Here's a short synopsis.
It's build on great characters, action and adventure. And if you're into music, you'll find a lot of fun references. It's still one of my favorite shounens up until this day, it's of really good quality. Even for it's length.
Yeah, I keep reminding myself that it's cliché, because when you're reading it, you'll forget it. But I guess that's part of it's charm too. We've already had some good fights, I think this arc might have some killer fights in them, shit's about to hit the fan, so I'm really hoping for that.
That's exactly what I'm afraid of, that Jericho x Ban is going to become some sort of gag, which is usually the case. And well, Geera.. I don't know. To be honest, I don't really care for any of the Holy Knights so far, I like them as characters and that's it, I really don't give a fuck more. What I am curious about though, is, when will we see the other Sins? We've already saw the 'witch' and some others as teasers in some chapters, I think they might find her next. I thought they found Ban and King really fast, but I can imagine why, now we have a solid base of characters, variations, something the manga can build on (instead of just Meliodas, Elizabeth and Diane). But I'm curious when we'll see the next one, not this arc, that's for sure. But the next? Or maybe the one after?
I'm not sure where the story is heading, I'm also curious if we get some bad-turned-good situations. Will one of the Holy Knights get a change of heart? For example, Jericho (depends how much her newly-found powers changed her, obviously.) It's a shounen, so it's inevitable.
I mentioned Rave just now, the other two are good as well. MÄR (Märchen Awakens Romance) is a typical shounen, I got that same feel while reading Nanatsu. It has shounen characters, shounen fights and a shounen story. All very typical, it starts with a small adventure and ends in battles, classic tournament style (chess-like in this case). You probably won't miss out, but if you love shounens (which I do, I do, I doooohoo) you'll really love it.
And then we have The Law of Ueki. My (so far) all-time favorite shounen. Like every shounen, it deals with it's topics and events in the same fashion. But it puts a great twist on the usage and types of the powers, I mean, the main character had the power to turn trash into trees. While another person can turn coins into whirlwinds. Stuff like that, really interesting take on a lot of things and the fights are epic! Also a lot of drama etc.
]
All three of them also have anime adaptations, Rave (51), MÄR (102) and Ueki (51). Rave doesn't cover the entire manga, I haven't watched the other two yet.
---------- Post added at 02:27 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:25 AM ----------
Oh yeah, both MÄR and Ueki have two short-lived sequel manga's, MÄR Omega and The Law of Ueki Plus, respectively.
yeah, that. Looking forward to seeing what Hellbram's powers are. BTW, is it me or is a large of disguises involved in the series so far? Just something I'd thought of now....Nah, but I think we spoke about it before and Maz also told me to read it. How far are you with it?What about Shokugeki no Souma by the way, do you read that?
Found that not so long ago, good cooking shounen from Jump.
