About Luffy's bounty being lower than Jinbe's, I believe that when word gets out about his actions on Dressrosa, it will sky rocket. I think that's the reason Jinbe didn't join right away. And for those who have concerns about the Sun Pirates, I foresee two scenarios:

1) The entire Sun Pirate crew will join the Straw Hats (hey, they have the same tragic backstory as Jinbe).

2) Following Big Mam's defeat, they'll swear their allegiance to Luffy.

Dunno, I would argue zoro or sanji would have been better matchups against ceasar or hody so far. Well, hodi was weak so its not really an issue however when it comes to the underwater fight sanji or zoro would have had a significantly easier time due to their ability to swim. Sanji in particular would have been the best choice with his flame based attacks and his blue walk. He would have most likely even been faster than hodi underwater. As for ceasar, I would think sanji would have been more suited to fight him due to his air walk. And his fire would have actually stopped a few of ceasar's attack before they ever reached him. Thinking about it zoro wouldn't have had any particular advantage against ceasar. Perhaps just being a tad more serious when fighting would have made the difference though.
Just wanted to point out that fishman island was 10km underwater and anyone that wasn't made out of rubber or something similar would've been crushed to death outside of a bubble in a battle like that Luffy had with Hodi (he had to stick his hands out of the bubble for some of his attacks I believe). Luffy's ability to stretch also gave him an advantage against Caesar too (avoiding his karakuni) where he could land physical attacks from a distance. Considering that Caesar has the ability to snuff out oxygen, he could probably turn off Sanji's flames and Zoro's # pound cannons which is compressed air. I dunno though since those were abilities they used mostly before the time skip and both of them have yet to have an all out battle to show what they're capable of, so you may be right.

You're right in that he'll still be known for his Enies Lobby antics, being the only man in the world to enter Impel Down BY CHOICE and make it out alive etc.
I believe BB did the same thing too. Anyway, I think Jinbei is more like a close ally than a crew member, but of course almost anything can happen in this manga.

Hmm... I didn't think of that.
I naturally assumed that the World knew that Luffy, Crocodile, Ivankov & Co. catapulted from a ship straight out of Impel Down no?
Wasn't everything being filmed then? Or had Aokiji already frozen Buggy solid?

And yeah, Jinbei is a huge addition to any crew in One Piece. He's like an ambassador for his people as well as being able to lead troops there.
It was being filmed, but I'm not sure if they caught the other former prisoners. Probably did, but they also probably didn't associate with him breaking out of Impel Down likely due to its reputation. The Marine also tried to cover it up as much as possible... otherwise I'm sure Luffy's bounty would be much higher.

Not to mention extremely powerful. Even if the Strawhats can't match the Yonkou in power, Jinbei would definitely help. Luffy can still take on the boss due to match up while Jinbei can take on the next or second best fighter in the said Yonkou's group. Main reason why Luffy fought Rob Lucci was because his stretching ability made him more able to withstand Lucci's stabs/finger pokes of doom. Jinbei could be more powerful than Luffy but still not fight or finish the fight against the boss.

Hell, Luffy would look even better having recruited someone stronger than him with more bounty under his command. And that a fishman, it would say a lot about Luffy in so many ways - his power, leadership skills, and the kind of person he is.

Dunno, for me at this point the idea of jinbe finally joining them permanently seems weird. His place in the crew, currently having a bounty higher than luffy's, the odds being against zoro and sanji breaking the 500 mil mark anytime soon or at all, his duties in fishman island and the fact that he has his own crew to look out for.... I have a hard time seeing just how he could walk in and join. He is a protector of fishman island and the only warrior there that can cause fear in successful new world pirates. Fishman island will eventually brandish the strawhat crew flag, wouldn't it make sense that he and his pirates remain at fishman island to take care of luffy's turf? If jinbe leaves, who would be a deterrent to someone just attack the island? Without jinbe there are plenty of monsters out there that could walk into the island and take it over in a matter of days or even less.
Wouldn't be weird. Luffy will eventually get stronger than Jinbei and have a higher bounty. I see it as a way to show what and who Luffy is. He not only has a stronger pirate under his command with higher bounty, but he also has a fishman willing to follow him. Same fishman with his own crew (though I don't think any of htem are allowed on Fishman Island due to their criminal status). I think Sanji and Zoro will also get over 500mil bounties considering how strong they are, making Luffy look even more impressive for having three extremely strong fighters under his command. People would wonder just how powerful Luffy himself must be.

I don't think so; if I recall accurately then Jinbei's pirates as well as Neptune's army are there to protect the island. Haven't Jinbei and his crew left the island plenty of times?

Would they have been able to get near or touch Caesar? Luffy's Color of Armament haki and ability to stretch almost renders Caesar powerless because he can't hurt Luffy or take him out since gas wouldn't stop the attacks or anything. Against Hodi, Sanji or Zoro would have to run and attack in water, while Luffy just needed to stretch his arms. Flame-based attacks wouldn't work in water, would it?

We've seen Zoro perform ranged attacks before, such as his # Pound Cannon and not too long ago we saw him cut Monet from a distance, so he'd have no problem with Ceasar. Sanji would be an interesting case as he has the ability to hit Ceasar, but with Diable Jiambe, it could cause both him and Ceasar to explode(unless he can out run it like Luffy did), even then, his Sky Walk would allow for some pretty decent hit and run tactics since Ceasar's Oxygen Deprivation range is short.

Against Hodi, Sanji would have the easiest time due to Blue Walk. And his flames are still effective while underwater. Zoro can also easily beat Hodi, he just doesn't have the maneuverability and speed to keep up should Hodi swim around. That would make it harder for him because he'd need to breathe eventually and he can't just Blue Walk to the surface and back quickly.

He means that air blades travel through air. The issue here is ceasar's ability to create air vacuums, it could potentially stop a ranged attack from a sword altogether. I think it would be very circumstantial though. While it is potentially a perfect defense it depends on ceasar being able to react to the attack which I don't think he can for the same reason he was unable to react against luffy's attacks at large. He is not fast or strong enough. Cut underwater could go either way. On one hand they could get weaker due to zoro not being able to move as fast. On the other hand the situation could be similar to underwater explosion. Water being more dense means a wave hits you harder. A ranged attack from a blade could end up being more devastating in a way underwater. As for keeping up with hodi's speed, I don't think zoro would have an issue here. Zoro was able to beat hodi speedwise before the transformation, I can't imagine the situation turning around that severely after the transformation. Even if it does zoro does have observation haki going for him.

I don't think luffy being rubber contributed to him surviving the pressure underwater. Was that ever actually said? I don't think zoro or sanji would be at a significant disadvantage compared to luffy in this regard.

Zoro and sanji getting a 500 mil bounty should be way ahead in the game IMO. Can you imagine the world government fearing the strawhats so much that they would give them such insane bounties to two other members? Zoro and sanji are well worth over 300 mil easily however the government has made the point that crewmembers get smaller bounties that their captains. Just look at kid and killer... both of them have been going strong at the new world and kid still has over twice the bounty killer has. What sort of bounty does luffy need to have for zoro and sanji to get bounties over what jinbe has? Sanji and zoro would have to get recognized as a significantly greater threat than jinbe even though they would be mere members of a crew. Ace had 550 mil, considering that luffy would have to be as much of a threat as a yonko for the world government to go to this extremes. I can easily see each and every strawhat getting a bounty over 100 mil once they finish this arc but them getting 3 people with bounties over 500 mil is still somewhat absurd. Once they beat kaido and his crewmembers with those insane bounties maybe however even that would be kinda deterred by the fact that the heart pirates would have helped them out.

I try to use another informal comparison here:

In 2 years ago: Jozu - WB 3rd commander > SH + CP9

Two yrs later: Luffy ~ Jozu, Zoro ~ Vista.

This is a very rough estimate and I'm not sure how to compare Sanji strength with the others in the WB pirate.

Ahh, I see what you mean about the vacuum. That is an interesting possibility. Honestly? I forgot he even had that ability. I would think if they were aware of the ability, they be able to power through it. It isn't a complete vacuum, so they should be able to hold their breathe and power through it to get a good hit in.

Against Hodi, what I mean is Zoro wouldn't be able to get around as easily as Sanji is able to. When it comes to CQC, sure Zoro has the reflexes to end Hodi, but should Hodi swim around, it would be a bit tougher. Well tough would imply it'd be a challenge, annoying is more like it. Yeah, Observation Haki would do the trick, but I think Hodi would have to get close to Zoro. I don't think Zoro would be able to chase Hodi (not that he'd need to since you are correct about the underwater slashes).

It wasn't said that it helped him. I suspect both Zoro and Sanji would be able to withstand such pressures as well. Hell, we saw it when Sanji left his air bubble to fight the Kraken.

I know, but a member theorized Zoro wouldn't be able to do that due to Caesar's ability to control the air around him. I don't think Caesar would risk getting hurt though, unless he can find a way to keep himself safe.

Could he still be able to beat Hodi, considering the drugs Hodi took? I'm not sure if Sanji could get past Hodi's roided up skin to deal damage without Color of Armament. Or if Zoro could beat Hodi considering Hodi came back to after taking the drug.

Ace's bounty was around 550mil, right? But it has nothing to do with beating a Yonkou as no matter how many times Ace tried, Whitebeard managed to beat him easily. Pretty sure if he did beat another Yonkou, that'd be mentioned somewhere. MOre like his bounty came from his exploits, the kind of person he was (smarter version of Luffy, I guess?), and being with Whitebeard. Though I'm not sure if Zoro and Sanji will ever match Jinbei's bounty or go higher, I can see it happening. They're too powerful to not get very high bounty.

Zoro and Sanji would easily stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Luffy against the enemies, much like the crew did when they finally found Robin in Enies Lobby. I can see Jinbei there too, being ready to take on the strongest enemies of their respective roles. Plus, you have some moments like Zoro willin to die for Luffy and trying to kill Kuma to add to his danger, as well as Sanji's ingenuity like coming up with a way to escape from EL safely.

I think you kinda missed my point here. My main point was about how crewmembers generally get far lesser bounties than the captains. In this particular case ace as a lesser member of the crew (he was arguably at least beneath marco, jozu and vista in terms of his standing) got 550 however he was a powerful fighter in the crew of a yonko. Can you imagine the sort of bounty WB must have had for even a commander of his to have such a bounty? The case can be made that ace started out solo as a pirate but in that regard zoro and sanji are at a disadvantage. They could potentially reach those high numbers, I believe they will, however the amount of time until that comes to pass should be quite considerable at least. For jimbe to make sense as a strawhat with the bounty he has and for such a number to make sense on 2 other crewmembers I would think the strawhats would have to grow considerably in terms of strength and influence. Its something way down the line even if after the current arc they make friends with every Colosseum fighter and the heart pirates permanently. Its yonko level of bounties for luffy and for his crewmembers... Even making friends with everyone there would merely put them on the way to being something like the yonko, it would not put the strawhats on par. They'd just be on the map. Without a doubt they are all getting those bounties eventually but its not something that can happen that soon. The fame and deeds the strawhats have to achieve before zoro and sanji can even hope to approach such bounties as members of the strawhat crew are well beyond what luck has gotten them so far IMO.

Dunno how long it'd take for the three's bounties to increase respectively while keeping Luffy's higher considering what Luffy will do. They have achieved a lot of fame and deeds for what they did. What other pirate crew went into the heart of the Marine to save the devil's child? Has any other rookie joined the Marineford War, singlehandedly changed the tide, and saved Ace himself, as well as have his lineage revealed (son of Dragon and grandson of Garp)? I could see Luffy getting over 1bil in bounty while Sanji and Zoro get around 500 mil, depending on what they do. They're going up against a member of shichibukai whose connection seems to be deep. There's also Fujitora on the island, whose group may come in contact with and confront the Strawhats.

The deeds and fame of the Strawhats are arguably some of the best out of the generation. Not sure if Whitebeard would have had insane amount of bounty considering the kind of person he was. Even though he was a pirate, he still protected people like Fishman Island.

Too far.
We can't assume numbers like 1bil until we find out the bounty of the Most Wanted Man in the world. (Dragon).
Just remember, Luffy isn't even stronger than the Admiral level.
So his threat in terms of taking the WG themselves really isn't that big yet.

It might happen by the end of this series, some people are just too hype with SH bounties even before the time-skip. Thanks to Kizaru who cleaned up everyone along with the hypes of extremely high bounty fans. Talking about a 300M bounty pirate who failed to do any jack to Kizaru is very disgraceful, but the hypes only slowed down then after a short period of time we have the same old problem again.

Specially about the event at the Justice Island, what Luffy did back there wasn't extraordinary at all, because he was forced to attack the island not because he wanted to; next is burning the WG flag, I think any Yonkou could do it without any problem but they didn't have any reason for their action. Besides, any Yonkou could also destroy the Justice Island too, the main problem is that CP9 didn't have any gut to mess with the Yonkou, Lucci wasn't worth even as bug from the Yonkou point of view, any 2nd rate of the Yonkou commander could erase him of out existence.

Even I can't imagine luffy getting a 1 bil bounty anytime soon. The manga is currently escalating into a greater war than the one before, I would think that by then it would be plausible for luffy to reach such a number. The issue here would be that the next great war should happen by the end of the manga. Overall I think luffy's next number will be 600 mil however even with such a number it would be weird for zoro and sanji to reach bounties over 500 mil. I agree with ukimix, luffy is still only at the potential stage of his threat level. A 1 billion bounty is something someone with something similar to realized potential should have. With a 600 mil bounty I can see zoro with a bounty at most nearing the 400 mil number and sanji's somewhere between 300 and 200 mil.

After this arc, Luffy might have a 500M bounty and Zoro's bounty increases up to 300M, maybe 200M for Sanji but these are all pure speculations, undependable speculations at most.

Considering Zoro's bounty doubled last time, this time it might triple or quadruple.

Bounty isn't based on power though, it's based on how dangerous one is. The reason why Kidd had higher bounty was because he was destructive, hurting people and I think destroying towns. Neither Luffy nor Law went after innocent people, so their bounties were at 200-300mil but were the second highest. Luffy is considered extremely dangerous because of him being the son of Dragon, brother of Ace, ability to make allies, being a courageous pirate, and even willing to attack Enies Lobby and take part in Marineford War and changing the tide. It's why I think it's very feasible for Luffy's bounty, along with Zoro and Sanji's, to increase substantially and hit a milestone.

We don't know how Luffy will fare against an admiral now because unlike back then, he can use two colors of haki. While he may still be weaker, he can definitely defend himself better. The growth can easily be seen when the Monster Trio went against the Pacifistas. I can actually see Dragon's bounty being at least 2bil, considering the reputation he seems to have amongst everyone, also being known as the world's most dangerous man.

It depends on how you define innocent. Its true kid does not care about killing civilians apparently however law is not a saint at all. Didn't he send 100 hearts to the marines (I can't recall if he sent pirate or marine hearts) to get his shichibukai position? He is a sort of ally to the strawhats but he is still a sociopath at large.

Well, within what range of time do you think the monster trio could hit the milestone you mention and what bounty ranges would that include? I don't think any of your posts mention that so far.

The 2 billion number seems a tad extreme. Dragon is definitely the most wanted but considering the manga has made the point that even going further than 300 mil is hard and the highest we have seen is 550 from a powerful crewmember of WB's the number seems almost absurd. Considering ace and his position it would be hard to believe even WB himself having 3 times that number. In a extreme case I don't see bounties ever crossing the 1.5 billion mark although I expect yonko to actually be around the 1 billion mark.

Law sent the hearts of pirates to the government or Marine, if I recall. For all we know, he could have chosen the bad pirates to take hearts from. However, before the timeskip it was established (can't recall) that Kidd's bounty was the highest out of the Supernovas solely because of how destructive he was. It's also been established that strength either isn't taken into consideration or isn't the only thing taken into consideration, and considering what Luffy has done and will do, I can easily see the crew's bounty raising. More specifically, the trio's bounty increasing since they'd likely be at the front line.

If bounty was based on strength, then I'd think Zoro, Sanji, and Luffy would have similar amount rather than a substantial difference.

Well, within what range of time do you think the monster trio could hit the milestone you mention and what bounty ranges would that include? I don't think any of your posts mention that so far.
I think it could take at least two arcs for that to happen. I'm not sure what the future will hold, but if the crew beat Doflamingo and his crew, I can see the bounty increasing a lot. Not to show how dangerous the Mugiwaras are but possibly out of revenge and spite. Luffy first got bounty placed on him because of the Marine who got pissed off at being owned. Considering how important Doflamingo is, and possibly the influence of the Yonkou who rely on him, I can see the Mugiwara's bounty increasing a lot.

Of course, it depends on what happens. The crew's bounty may not increase much, if at all, if they're thought to have nothing to do with Doflamingo's downfall (IF) or if Fujitora does nothing.

The 2 billion number seems a tad extreme. I dunno - if Whitebeard's crew member had the bounty of 550mil, imagine Whitebeard's bounty. He was a pirate for over thirty, forty years, sailing with a crew and then forming his own crew, which clashed with Roger's many times. Not to mention how dangerous Dragon is to the government and what he's currently doing. I can see the government/Marine charging a high bounty on both of their heads based on what they have done, are doing, and can do. It'd certainly make people want to kill both of them, no?

I think it would be extremely rare to see bounties cross 1.5 billion, but it's not impossible either.
