You're joking right?

It could be seen from the city because it was on a mountain. Get out of here with that logic "it was the size of the Cema. Lol.

That spell wasn't even on mountain level. And nice try using that panel of Natsu, manga stream said Natsu only negated some of it.
Crunchyroll is the official release, so it's better evidence to be used than mangastream. Natsu negated all of it. But again, doesn't matter since Cema isn't shown to be heat-based, so even if Melt is larger than Sema, it doesn't mean Natsu was more powerful to tank it. Just that he had the "hax" (ability) to negate it. No point in comparing the two spells.

It was a lot bigger then Cema. And they weren't on a mountain in the first place and they were nowhere near Magnolia's mountains.

Sema is moving at God like speeds and it's a meteor, the have fire around it because of it entering our atmosphere. The force of impact would flatten Natsu. Dragon skin or not, he's still human. He's done. And who knows, Jellal could possibisly drop multiple of them and even bigger.

Did you not just see the panel? That was a freaking mountain.

"No mountains near the city" well clearly you never seen the anime.

Anime does NOT equal manga canon. Really? This is getting ridiculous. Your arguements consist of ignoring manga fact. You havent made a single solid arguement that doesnt negate what has happened in the manga

What are you talking about? You can clearly see they are on top of a flat surface when they find August.

I never said there weren't mountain around Magnolia (I said there were), I said they are nowhere near the ones by Magnolia.

Well, whether or not he negated August's attack (which he obviously did), it doesn't matter since "Melt(?)" is heat-based whereas Cema likely isn't.

The same way people argue for "attack" and "endurance" it's time to argue "intelligence". Jellal would not cast Sema if Natsu was in a healthy state to retaliate it. If anything, he's smart enough to use it when Natsu can't use those attacks towards the end as a finisher, like with OS. I completely agree, in that Natsu's demolition fist (or better choice, his Roar) could completely block Sema as it falls. But Jellal isn't the type to just spam and overpower with spells whenever.

*This is assuming Jellal can overcome Jura's defense in GMG with Sema, which was not shown.
I never said Natsu could negate Sema easiy, and I know its not heat-based. What I've theorized (like @Brandish has) is that Natsu could possibly stop Sema in its tracks with a Flame Dragon King's Roar or Flame Dragon King's Demolition Fist, destroying it with that spell. If Natsu could destroy a huge war god, a meteor which is smaller than the war god should be able to be destroyed as well. And, while it mightn't be easy for Natsu to do it, I still believe he could do it.

As for Jellal holding Sema back to the end of the fight, whats to say he'd still be in the fight at all if it was long and drawn out? If Natsu lands even just a few hits on Jacob in FDKM or DF, its over. Jellal has next to no durability feats, so I don't see why he'd be much better in that regard now.

Look at where it was cast again. It was on the other side of those mountains, and you can see from the panel @Jko posted, they were well away from the mountains. As for translation sites, Crunchyroll hosts the official translations, so if you're trying to discredit the official translations and say that a website's translations that can't even get character names right is better, then I'm really questioning that right now.

Yeah, it totally moves at "God Speed" when we've seen Laxus's lightning attacks move even faster than that for example. Does that mean laxus's attacks are greater than this "god speed?" The same speed or greater than we've seen people like Natsu have with some of their attacks? I'm not buying the "god speed" thing. Sema moves at a decent pace, but its no "meteor" like Jellal uses. And heck, Natsu could use a FDK's Demolition Fist on the Sema and destroy it. As for Sema's size, there is no evidence of there being more sizes so I think you're just grasping at straws here to try and get Jellal over.

Sema isn't heat based, it's a meteor. It does it's damage through the impact. It might not be the smartest idea for Natsu to destroy Sema because it will just break into smaller parts which will widen the AoE.

Also,I don't think DF is going to be as huge as an impact in this fight as I thought it'd be. DF Natsu could only last a few seconds before completely draining the rest of his MP against Mard, I don't think DF is going to take Jellal down during that short time and once Natsu exhausts all his MP he is going to get destroyed even if he does manage to severely damage Jellal.

Using this logic, August's attack is weaker than Natsu's demolition fist in base :cookiehand

Just because Sema has more AoE doesn't mean it's stronger.

To be fair, meteor fragments falling on him is better than the whole meteor dropping down on him.

Nah, I think Natsu' roar could block it mid difficulty. I don't see why he'd use his demolition fist as that would cause him to have potentially heavy recoil (though it would look cool). Jellal has "no durability feats". Tell that to the Oracion Seis. He literally fought 3 Tenrou Erza or above level characters + Sorano at the same time. Jellal's a powerhouse character for a reason -- he has the endurance for long drawn out fights, just fine, able to cast Cema-level spells even when extremely beat up.

And, I'd argue the size of August's attack was greater than Jellal's Sema as it could be seen from a magnolia which was a fair distance away.
August's attack was very small, like Laxus' nuke, and they were been in 10-20km from guild.
Sema is Grand Canyon size. While star fell on the ground we can see curved horizon of entire Earth.
If 50m meteorite fall he evaporates entire space in 1km. Jellal's meteorite was much bigger than 50m
Did they really need to say the entire lake was evaporating amidst their disbelief of it evaporating? Its heavily implied the entire lake did evaporateso I don't really see why people are actually trying to argue the entire lake didn't evaporate.
Bs someone here tried to prove that Serena cant eat flame bs he didnt eat flame. So, while any body in manga dont say that Natsu burn whole lake - he didnt.
Natsu evaporated just line in front of him.
Well I dont care was it part or whole lake, but in manga was not any proof.
In this battle even this lake does not mean anything. I give win to Natsu in 10 difficulty, but Jellal simply oneshot him with Abyss Break

Bear with me as i am trying to follow your logic here...you say Natsu wins right?...what 10 difficulty is in terms of measurement is not quite clear... is this win difficult for him? Is it easy? Please rate it from low to high/extreme difficulty so one can understand your rating at least. Or give a scale like 10/10 and tell us wether 1 is the easiest or hardest. This is simply for simplicity so we know what exactly 10 difficulty means.

Other than that we have established that you are giving the Win to Natsu...yet Jellal oneshots him?...wouldn't that mean Jellal wins though?...i really do not understand your logic

Laxus beats both these scrubs

Was thinking of voting for Jellal, but apparently Natsu can use DF at will in this tournament. Natsu takes this.

At that point, yes, there was no water. But that was because Natsu's presence was still there. From what I understood, he only evaporated these parts.

Though they may not look exactly the same, the area is quite similar. The water flooded the gap after he was gone. I mean if Natsu really evaporated the whole lake, I'd imagine that it would be so significant that we'd get a quote from somebody saying he actually evaporated the whole lake. Or at least a panel of it...

We'll just disagree here. Anyways, AoE doesn't really matter as his attack potency hasn't been proven to be that high. The fodders surrounding him when he entered the GMG as "The Challenger" was able to survive. Even Lucy...
Gonna have to agree with @SirSamuel016. Look at the crunchyroll version of those scans you provided. Jet/Droy say the exact words "Hey!! The water in the lake just evaporated".

Also,I don't think DF is going to be as huge as an impact in this fight as I thought it'd be. This logic is a bit flawed. If we take into account how much fighting Natsu had done before he used DF on Mard, it should be pretty obvious that Natsu was low on MP before he used it... Unless Natsu waits until he's near death in this fight to activate it, he isn't gonna only last a few seconds with DF.

If Natsu didn't evaporate the entire lake then we would've still seen water after the attack. Logically, the water would've still been present in some areas if it wasn't fully evaporated, but we've seen no water whatsoever since Natsu got serious over the lake. And, as has been previously provided, Jet and Droy literally commented that the water in the lake was evaporating. Did they really need to say the entire lake was evaporating amidst their disbelief of it evaporating? Its heavily implied the entire lake did evaporate so I don't really see why people are actually trying to argue the entire lake didn't evaporate.

"The water in the lake just evaporated." just means that the water evaporated. They could have left out "...in the lake..." and it means the same thing. The fact that it never indicated that all of it or the entire/whole lake evaporated is key to what I'm saying.

I see the points you're making but at that moment, there shouldn't be any water in the gap. Not only is Natsu's heat still present, but look at Jacob. He is flying at incredible speed. Think of a plane flying over the ocean. It creates a trough and the water only flows back when it is gone. Except this is way faster and more extreme. Also, there is no animation so it looks still when in fact it was drawn at the exact moment there was no water.

Well, yes, there is a significant difference in saying the entire lake was evaporating or just a part of it. Just because it was stated that the water was indeed separating, we can't assume that the AoE covered the whole lake if you know what I'm trying to say. All we saw in the panels as that a part of it evaporated so although I don't deny that it happened, I do deny that the AoE was the size of the whole lake.

I believe Jet and Droy were just surprised at the fact that Natsu's flames are hot enough to evaporate regular water. They didn't witness Natsu melting the GMG so the only one who shouldn't be surprised is Lucy.

We'll see better in the anime but I still find it hard to believe that Natsu evaporated the whole lake. Otherwise, it would be close to city level AoE...

Jellal tanked DF Natsu on DF. What makes you think his DF would affect him now if they both gotten stronger?

So we're bringing in AoE, huh? Well in that case!
I was only talking about Natsu's heat when he enters FDKM. It's not even an attack, it's merely his presence.

Sema's bulky AoE isn't damaging, it's getting hit from the actual meteorite itself. I place Tartarus Sema below a base Roar from Natsu, so he should stop it with base spells. Current Sema is on a different level, logically it's above GC. Even if it's got the same damage output as GC (bare minimum assumption), it's AoE is bigger, and therefore it's a better spell to cast in this fight.

I write it before, I dont liken "low-mid-high" dif bs people use some kind of supermegaextremehigh dif and same things)))
I use difficulty:
0 - Absolute superiority. The enemy can not do anything. (very very low dif, like Acno vs Happy)
1 - Absolute oneshot. The enemy may try something to get done.
2-3 - The obvious superiority. You can oneshot depending on magic, but the opponent is able to fight back.
4-5 - The marked superiority. Very rare and cheat oneshots are present, if the enemy is weak to character's magic. The winner is obvious, but it gives the enemy a good fight.
6-7 - Without the obvious superiority, the opponents are equal in the general parameters. There is a slight advantage, decent fight. (Mid dif)
8 - Without excellence, possible slight superiority on the part of the enemy, victory is not easy way. (mid-high dif)
9 - Weak superiority of the enemy, oneshot is possible depending on the magic. The winner is unclear. (high dif. Like Laxus vs Hades on Tenru but with Laxus' win)
10.The superiority of the enemy, oneshot guaranteed, save perhaps only a miracle or cheating. (like I said, Jellal can oneshot Natsu with AB but if Natsu survived it somehow or Jellal will never use AB than Natsu with extreme dif win)

Nah, I think Natsu' roar could block it mid difficulty. I don't see why he'd use his demolition fist as that would cause him to have potentially heavy recoil (though it would look cool). Which is why Jellal would not carelessly cast it against him in a scenario you & @Brandish have reasoned out fairly well. He'd be using things like GC, meteor, heavenly blasts etc. like he's shown to have been in the few fights we see him in before using that spell at the end, like with OS (if he uses it at all). He has no reason to cast it earlier.

Did you actually see Jellal take many hits from the OS guys? The answer is no, he was always dodging or blocking the attacks, and as we saw in the Neinhart fight one small explosion took him down. Even if he wasn't focused on defending, it still doesn't look good to get taken out by something small like that.

August's attack was very small, like Laxus' nuke, and they were been in 10-20km from guild.

Sema is Grand Canyon size? I honestly don't think the Grand Canyon is that small, so that size comparison is very inaccurate imo. And August's attack was small? I'm sorry, but how is that small? Look at the thing, it was a huge, wide pillar so I really am failing to see how its small. Its obviously larger than Sema.

Jellal tanked DF Natsu on DF. What makes you think his DF would affect him now if they both gotten stronger?
Yeah, Jellal totally tanked the mode that defeated him with just a few punches. You seriously believe Jellal tanked DF Natsu when Natsu actually beat him using it? How? Natsu knocked Jellal all around the ToH with ease, he outsped him; Jellal was literally a bit of a ragdoll for most of the part of the fight where Natsu was using Dragon Force. Getting knocked around the entire ToH =/= tanking Dragon Force.

It was like Laxus' nuke. It doesnt small but very smaller than Sema. Sema is meteorite. As I said 50m meteorite can vaporize 1km space. Entirely. If August's spell was even 200m in diameter, Jellal's 50m meteorite will do x9999 times more damage. And his meteorite was bigger than 50m.
Grand Canyon is only one thing that I can bring to compare Sema with.
50m falling ball will destroy 10km city. And I think in manga block or survive Sema can only Acno, August and Iren (Zeref immortal, fuck him). I mean real Sema - real meteorite. Natsu cant destroy it with his fists bs meteorite has huge attack power. When Natsu touch it he instantly will be killed.

Because Sema totally destroyed stuff in a 1km radius when Jellal dropped it on the Oracion Seis. No, I don't think it would be that widespread. Logic in the real world doesn't exactly work in the Fairy Tail universe as it would here, a regular meteor in the real world would level part of a city even if it was small. A magical meteor on the other hand, aka Sema, would not be as destructive as an actual meteor as we saw when Jellal dropped Sema on Oracion Seis. Sema was nowhere near as destructive as what you're implying, and without any evidence of it being able to be any more destructive than that then we shouldn't assume it can be anymore destructive than that.

And now Natsu will be killed because he'd shatter Sema into nothing with a Flame Dragon King's Demolition Fist? Sema hit the OS members and they weren't killed, so why would Natsu (someone who is stronger than any of those OS members) be killed by it? Thats an absurd claim to make.

I just wanted to post the sema pic lol

> I place Tartarus Sema below a base Roar from Natsu, so he should stop it with base spells

As I was mentioning to sam earlier, Jellal is intelligent, he would likely not cast Sema (as, like demolition fist, it eats up energy) if he knew Natsu still had moves to defend it to the point where it would no effect. Assuming Jellal isn't backed into a corner, he seems more inclined to use a Tartarus Cema as a finisher after a direct Alvarez GC hit.

> Even if it's got the same damage output as GC (bare minimum assumption), it's AoE is bigger, and therefore it's a better spell to cast in this fight.

The only tactical reason (that I see) in which Gerard would cast Sema, would be if Natsu in DF is faster than meteor by a wide margin. From ToH DF, we can agree that it edges out meteor, but not enough for either side to be able to rely on speed alone. It would be an unfavorable fall back option to cast such a wide attack, as GC and ToH Altairis, or Heavenly Blast takes less less energy to use, unless Jellal can't catch or hurt Natsu with his other attacks. (imo)

Did you actually see Jellal take many hits from the OS guys? The answer is no, he was always dodging or blocking the attacks, and as we saw in the Neinhart fight one small explosion took him down. Even if he wasn't focused on defending, it still doesn't look good to get taken out by something small like that.

I'm referring towards the end of the fight where he was getting hit and beat up by CQC and magic. It wasn't a very drawn out fight, as it wasn't a boss battle, but that what we saw could be extended to throughout the fight and Mashima didn't draw it out. I'm not saying his endurance is higher than Natsu by any means, but it's definitely not his weak point.

And did you not see my picture?? Here let me get for you again.

I didn't know that the Grand Canyon is so large that if you step back you can see the CURVATURE OF THE EARTH.

And DF Natsu DEFEATED Jellal? DRAGON FORCE Natsu even with a 3X POWER UP was about to be blasted to smithereens by Abyss Break. He did overwhelm Jellal, but he by no means came close to defeating him. Exactly like with Laxus, that Natsu "win" wasn't even legitimate.

3X DF by eating etherion + Blocked Altairis spell to kill + Held back to prevent destruction of Etherion Tower + Being unable to finish with Abyss Break does NOT count as a win.
