Not actually that many, I think only 4 in the series:
-Lucy & Juvia in TOH
-Wendy & Lucy against Hades
-Gray& Juvia in GMG
-Sting & Rogue in GMG
Jellal was right, Unison Raids aren't that common and the only two mages who can perform them willingly are Sting and Rogue
The strongest one I think is the Gray & Juvia one in GMG against Atlas Flame and Sherria & Lyon
My memory must be playing up, has there really only been four Unison Raids? Damn. Nice to see that Sting and Rogue have something unique.

@Everyone Thanks for answering this, my mind must be faulty lol.

Either the Gray+Juvia one or the Sting+Rouge one. Not really sure tbh.
Wait that was filler?
Yeah, it was.
well, I didn't read that manga part but some guy on this forum said that they didn't do that huge blast where Acnologia was pushed back.
Did that guy happen to be me? :cheez

So could anybody answer a question that's been on my mind? What's the strongest Unison Raid we've seen? I want to say White Shadow Dragon's Flash Fang (apparently Rough Silk isn't a Unison Raid) but I'm not sure.

Also why can so many people do Unison Raids? They were introduced as something that only a handful of mages could pull of but we've seen a fair few.
The one you mention was the most flashy I can remember.
I only recall Lucy+Juvia, Gray+Juvia, Lucy+Wendy and Sting+Rogue so it's not like there are many Unison raids so far hehe. I don't count the dragon slayer trio against the Edolas dorma anim cause I'm not sure it was actually Unison Raid, I think it was just the three attacks merging.

Neither of the 4 weren't too impressive. The last one is the most impressive in terms of colours and magic pressure but in the end it could be nullified by Natsu's attack. It's "sad" because Unison Raid should not just 'add' the two magics but it should multiply them by a lot, so Natsu necessarily had to be MANY times stronger than these two :(
IMO the strongest unison raid might be a combination of all 7 dragon slayers roars (against Acno maybe?)

Hiro doesn't keep track of these things unfortunately. All it really takes is good chemistry and in this manga where there are friendly guilds everyone other person probably knows it. Hell, some pedestrians/regular humans could probably join in if their friendship meter is high enough. Strongest ones gotta be Rough Silk when used by Rogue and Sting (when Future Rogue uses it alone its not a unison raid).

Wendy + Lucy is not a unison raid it's a combination attack and the same goes to ft in tenrou island .

IMO unison raid is when you combine two mages magical power to create one powerful attack . Prove is Lucy with juvia and gray with juvia.... both of the times they combine their magical power .

I think the celestial spirit unison raid is the best.... when Lucy and yukino combine their magical power to open all of the 12 zodiac .
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---
And I think that it's more like a fusion..... two mages fused their magical power to create an attack.

There was actually a debate about this a few pages ago but most of us think it's a plot hole because:

a) The MBP's were one-shotting people before Bradman even got close to them.
b) We've seen Tempester's MBP's down the Thunder God Tribe and Laxus in moments.
c) Bradman was constantly emitting MBP's, so there would have been more than when Tempester exploded.
d) The only reason Gajeel wasn't affected was due to Iron Lungs.
e) Even wearing the mask it was still absorbed through her skin.

So basically unless it's a plot hole Levy has better durability/endurance/stamina than Laxus, the former being far more likely.
a) The people he was shotting were scrubs, I don't think he one-shotted anyone of note
b) But did not one shot them

Therefore, Bradman's MBP might be hyped to be able to one shot people, but fact is it hasn't done anyone notable. Anyone worth of note from Levy to the Thunder God Tribe were affected but hardly instantly one shotted, so to expect someone on the level of Erza who has one of the best endurance in the series to get one shotted is a bit strange. Would it down her eventually? Sure, but I think it'll be more of a gradual thing and she'd still fight before eventually succumbing to it rather than instantly.

Historias is just like a fodder . I think the power level for springgan historias is like tenrou arc mages and the other historias like kyouka , azuma is nothing more than a fodder .

I wonder how neinhart could even be a springan .
Ok I wouldn't go that far. Serena still somehow damaged Gildarts a little, even if Gildarts isn't as special as most made him out to be based on the spoilers he is still implied to be at least strong as a fully powered Serena (ie Spriggan level). Tenrou arc mages (sans Bluenote and Hades) wouldn't even be able to put a scratch on Tenrou Gildarts, let alone the current one. I'd say the Historia Spriggan hover around Mard level, stronger or weaker depending on what their strength as real mages was.

Neinhart still has massive amounts of MP and his magic is undeniably useful in some scenarios. He is bottom of the barrel Spriggan in most scenarios (in some scenarios he does go up though) but he is still Spriggan level.

I don't think that they're as strong as mard level based on feats . I would says they are at the very best on gmg kagura level or gmg erza . That is just my opinion coz that what i see.

If it were the case, I'd say Serena, as he seems to be the strongest of the 3.

As for Gray, Hiro is probably saving him for Invel, but I'm skeptical he will fight him alone. If Ul's Historia, that was suggested not to be in her prime, gave Gray and Lyon a good fight, I don't think Gray can take on a (non-demonic) Spriggan by himself. We'll see.
If's dont mean anything in the long run, Gray was clearly handicapped and nerfed as hell in that fight for so many reasons stated, so it still doesn't really matter if Ul was in her prime or not considering everything that transpired there.

Yes, we'll see. Hope Mashima proves you wrong there.

Gray and Lyon probably had difficulty against Up because they were restricted emotionally. Once they got past the emotional turmoil, they dealt with her rather easily.

Just my thoughts on the matter. Tbh, I don't care about Gray at all LOL

Here's my updated FT guild ranking, up to the latest chapter (without breaking the 24-hour spoiler rule, by posting reasoning)
  1. Gildarts
  2. Laxus
  3. Natsu
  4. Erza/Gajeel
  5. Gray
  6. Mirajane
  7. Wendy
  8. Lucy/Makarov
  9. Juvia
Notable changes:
  • Gajeel moved up one spot. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and until the war ends and we see more from these two, I'll say he's equal or at least close to Erza;
  • Gray climbed up two spots, because I did not consider his Ice Devil Slayer Magic in my previous ranking, which logically puts him above Mirajane;
  • Makarov and Juvia are now in the ranking.

Hadn't Lyon made a comment about her being just as strong as she was back in the day? If anything that should confirm that any Non-Spriggan level Historia are just as strong as they once were. People are jumping the gun on this.

Historias are bascially like celestial spirits in that they probably operate on Neinharts MP. Since his MP is only Spriggan level he can't make 3 Spriggan Spriggan level, however if he summons a bunch of far weaker characters he could make them just as strong as they once were, maybe even stronger.

That may be true, but even if Ul was in her prime (which is left dubious due to the ambiguity and complexity of Neinhart's magic), she has been dead for years, whereas Gray and Lyon had plenty of time to close the gap between their master's power and their own. Oddly enough, they still had a hard time fighting her...

Also, I hardly consider Ul to be Spriggan-level, just like you, so the point still stands: Gray cannot take on a Spriggan alone, based off of what we've seen from him this arc. With his trump card, perhaps, but I don't think he has what it takes to defeat Invel by himself.

If you're just going to ignore the implications of what happened with Gray being handicapped/nerfed in the battle with Ul, then you continue being stubborn and refusal to admit you're wrong. It's pretty evident that the battle should be taken with a grain of salt considering what everything has been seen till date. Oddily enough, they had a hard time fighting her for so many reasons. and once Lyon got his shit together, when push comes to shove, it wasn't a "hard time". It was a one-shot.

You're point doesn't stand, because it's nothing but false exaggerations and refusal to admit what actually transpired there. Taking as some sort of token of measure for Gray's strength is ridiculous. I mean you literally have no counter to any arguments against you, because deep down you're baiting or biased or whatever.

technically, it wasn't a one shot. they both used one of their strongest moves(Ice Devils Zeroth Long Sword and Cygnus Blade Icewings). having to resort to such powerful spells is by no means a low diff battle. its a high diff battle. Laxus used Lightning Dragon's Jaw against Hades and it was a high diff battle although Laxus was severely weakened at that moment. the same thing with Wendy who used Sky Dragon's Crushing Fang.

anyway, I agree that DeS Gray is stronger than Ur. who knows what would happen if Ur was alive and trained a bit and if she wasn't emotionally broken from her loss(Ultear).

It was Gray's strongest spell in his base state, and it was pretty much a oneshot, considering Ul hardly took any damage prior to that. Considering they weren't really all that exhausted in releasing those spells, it was more of a low diff battle once Lyon got his shit together.

I would say Base Gray is > Ul as well.

Only Lyon was restricted emotionally, as seen here and here; this pretty much shows Gray in-character, not emotionally restricted or holding back in any shape or form. Ironically, it took their combined effort to one-shot a non-Spriggan mage... That hardly shows significant improvement in terms of power, because it also suggests that Gray alone couldn't handle his master, as seen when he was desperately trying to bring Lyon back to reality, hoping that he would fight seriously.

I agree that it was an emotional fight for Lyon, but Gray has closed that chapter of his life long ago.
