Id probably buy all of Kochikame just for the hell of it.
Much different print runs as OP wasn't the 3 million per volume seller it was back then but on the plus side One Piece had several boosts throughout its run one big one in 2009 with the release of Strong World which had people buying everything back from the first volume onward while SnK had the typical anime boost and has died down significantly after that, some people are saying it might get a second boost with the upcoming second season next year but those same people also said it'll get a boost with last year's live action movies which didn't really occur.Akimoto has a tendency to say "looking forward to your next series" to people like Kishimoto who just finished a 15 year long manga, so I get the feeling he doesn't have retirement in mind.
also, I am actually amazed SnK sold more than one piece did at the same point in time. that seems so... wrong to me. i don't know. like it bothers me on a personal level.--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---
oh well, such is life. I guess you can chalk it up to the fact that it had an extremely high quality anime series and had the fuck promoted out of it, also 90% of AoT's appeal is the mystery so it makes even more sense for anime watchers to move to the manga.
but still.
Is not known if the 60 Million is worldwide or just Japan. It seems to be Worldwide given that by the end of October last year it had 52 Million copies in print Worldwide, so 8 Million copies more in the span of 2-3 more volumes(In Japan. Around 7.5 Million, and 0.5 Million overseas) seems quite right.Akimoto has a tendency to say "looking forward to your next series" to people like Kishimoto who just finished a 15 year long manga, so I get the feeling he doesn't have retirement in mind.

One Piece and Shingeki no Kyojin in the top 2Any early end of year sales predictions?

Isn't Captain Tsubaza also running? So is Kochikame, jojo's bizarre adventure & Kinnikuman are the longest ongoing series that are/were from jump?
Captain Tsubasa is ongoing, and I think City Hunter (maybe also Fist of the North Star, not sure about that) has a sequel in Comic Zenon. So is Kochikame, jojo's bizarre adventure & Kinnikuman are the longest ongoing series that are/were from jump?
Kochikame is the longest continuously running manga while Jojo TECHNICALLY ended it's streak with Part 6 when it changed to Steel Ball Run and then Araki later integrated it into the Jojo franchise from there. Kinnikuman is an interesting case since it did end got a sequel series that was abandonded and then the mangakas went back to continue the manga where it left off so it really hasn't been running until recently. So is Kochikame, jojo's bizarre adventure & Kinnikuman are the longest ongoing series that are/were from jump?
i know it wasn't, i wasn't asking for the reason, i was just stating my dissatisfaction with the situation. im just saying, in my opinion the first 20 volumes of OP are several orders of magnitude better than the first 20 volumes of SnK, so it reeks of injustice to me.Much different print runs as OP wasn't the 3 million per volume seller it was back then but on the plus side One Piece had several boosts throughout its run one big one in 2009 with the release of Strong World which had people buying everything back from the first volume onward while SnK had the typical anime boost and has died down significantly after that, some people are saying it might get a second boost with the upcoming second season next year but those same people also said it'll get a boost with last year's live action movies which didn't really occur.

beside everything everyone already mentioned, Hell Teacher Nube & Saint Seiya are still a thingSo is Kochikame, jojo's bizarre adventure & Kinnikuman are the longest ongoing series that are/were from jump?

Also this wasn't announced in the volume but by a Twitter, making it seeming to be Worldwide sales.
Still, Attack on Titan since the anime boost got +2.5 Million copies per volume, more than One Piece got at the time. At the time Slam Dunk had the print record of 2.5 Million.
