Even if Meliodas had full counter it really wouldn't help. Escanor moves too fast. He even caught Estarossa off guard with a pre 11:30 Cruel Sun

I think people are misinterpreting what happened during escanor and estarosa's fight. Some people are suggesting escanor got a sudden power boost due to the time of the day. However looking at other times we have seen escanor that does not seem to be how his power works. Granted that his power does skyrocket at dawn and it probably plunges at sunset however we have seen escanor at other times and his power does not seem to normally skyrocket as it did against estarosa. Take the flashbacks we have seen from when the sins were set up by the holy knights. It was some point during the day and escanor was nowhere near as buff as he was against estarosa. Take his fight with galan. it supposedly happened close to noon and escanor did not buff up nearly as much as he did against estarosa. Take the fight he had against the vampire king. He buffed up at around the time the vampire king fouled his mood.

Basically, escanor powered up against estarosa not because he got yet another boost at that time of the day but rather because he simply felt like using more of his power. He could have done that sooner if he wanted to. And he probably could have gone well higher than he did if he wanted to. Because escanor willingly holds back his power as much as he can and aids that with rhitta. The most likely scenario is that the time of the day determines the actual top of escanor's power but odds are escanor has never reached the top he can use at any given time so far.

It seems logical, but the only problem is this is just evidence. We can say that Escanor powers up when he wants to, but we don't have any specific time to base this off of for debate. Close to noon could've meant 11:00, the sins could've been ambushed towards the later hours of the day. Also, the databook says that Escanor cannot fully control his power yet. Even more so, Nakaba purposely drew in a completely random scene about a village boy just to let his audience know that it was 11:30.

I took the 11:30 scene to mean "it's not noon yet" rather than "yep, 11:30, time for a powerup". The thing to consider here is that escanor does not go around melting castles or evaporating lakes all the time. Against izraf this was specifically linked to his mood being fouled and taking it out on the measly vampire king. Against estarosa escanor made the point that he exerted himself. We saw escanor in his vacation with the other sins and for the most part he even got into the water without evaporating and only actually evaporated when merlin made him feel aroused. So perhaps I phrased things wrong earlier. The issue is not quite that escanor can power up when he cans. The issue is that at any given time he keeps his power level at it's lowest possible level. And strong emotions make him loose control. And of course his power can increase by him merely not suppressing his power. And that his power cap actually increases as the day progresses does not help him in maintaining his power suppressed. The power increase merlin and meliodas mentioned in turn would also not be escanor's "normal" power increased. That would be the most he can suppress his PL increase through the day. As in, that is the slowest possible increase in power he can manage.

I think you can interpret it either way.

The scence change to the farmers could have been used to inform the readers that he was getting a power up from the time of day.

Escanor's dialogue however basically amounted to "I could have beaten you whenever I felt like it".

But we don't know if that's just Escanor being Escanor or he's just suppressing his power. It does have some merit. He did say he wanted to enjoy their fight.

You can interpret it either way until we get more info.

Ah, well in that case yes I agree. Escanor has shown that he has the ability to surpress his powers to an extent. So yeah, it makes sense to me now.

No, I don't see how it's possible. Escanor doesn't control his power and the time of the day was mentioned, he powered up because of that, we all know his PL depends on the time of the day. He can't use more of his power because he wants to. He also said that he would fight Estarossa seriously. Rhitta is not supposed to hold him back, it's his Sacred Treasure. The heat he emits is stored in it, helps to reduce damages caused by his heat and can be used to release a Sunshine blast , it doesn't reduce its power.

Yeah but keep in mind Estarosssa strength stat which is a measure of his physical capabilities is extremely high. Yet Escanor proved that his 11:30 self was more than enough to outclass and outspeed it's 50,000ish value. I wouldn't be surprised if prime Meliodas's strength was under Estarosssa's strength stat or barely above it. If Meliodas had physical capabilities (strength stat) of let's say 60,000; I believe that 11:30 Escanor would certainly give him a challenge and that peak Escanor would be too much for him to track. Escanor would still have half an hour left for his powerlevels to rise right after a big surge, and then they'd most likely surge again at his peak.

What I am saying is completely consistent with him being unable to control his power though. You are talking about a guy who does his best 12 hours a day to suppress his power as much as he can. And yet the bare minimum at which his power increases is still thousands worth of PL per battle. The slightest arousal causes his power level to surge. And given what we have seen, rhitta does certainly have the function to hold him back, otherwise his comment at the end of his fight with estarosa makes no sense. Of course, clearly rhitta also has the opposite function of helping him in battle just as much as any other sacred treasure would in battle.

LOL Escabor fanboys should realize Mel has multiple stages in power, his base form is equal to Estarossa who was already match to pre 11:30 Escanor

His demon mark boosts his stats tremendously, before being possessed he was able to take on Gloxinia and Dolor while holding back

Also his final form where he loses control his PL went from 3k to 4K to 10k when he fought Galand, that's a huge increase

In his base form he already has the ability to match Escanor from early morning to 11:30, then applying his new Mark he surpasses his base power level and it's not even close, not to mention when the darkness takes over he reaches the pinnacle of his strength and magic

You guys serious think Escanor's stronger than that lmaoooo
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---
I could understand Pre Purgatory Mel but Post purgatory Godliodas is currently the strongest, a 60k base power stat puts him on the same level as his brothers when they're using their demon Mark

Like 60k right off the bat in base is too much power, not to mention he jumped from 4400 to 10300 before his power up so imagine if he lost control jumping from 60k to lord knows what

What we know so far(strictly in terms of PL)
Estarossa(Magic: 3000 Strength: 53000 Spirit: 4000 Total: 60000)
Zeldris( Magic: 10000 Strength: 47200 Spirit 3800 Total: 61000)
Prime Meliodas(I assume he is at is prime) (Magic: Unknown Strength: Unknown Spirit: Unknown Total: 60000)

Even assuming that Meliodas is inferior to Estarossa in terms of Strength(which is at least above Derrierie's 48K). His PL is like that without his mark. If he uses his PoD, considering everything we know so far, do you think Estarossa's PL could be comparable to him?

What I am saying is completely consistent with him being unable to control his power though. You are talking about a guy who does his best 12 hours a day to suppress his power as much as he can. Escanor is not trying to suppress his power though, what he tries to suppress(at times) is the heat he emits. His PL doesn't increase as you said. So far, it only surged during the night against Gowther and at 11:00/11:30 AM against Estarossa. Against Galan it was clearly rising with 5 points per seconds.

Rhitta doesn't hold him back, as I said just above, what he tries to suppress is the heat he emits in order to not burn everything around him, and the heat intensifies at times depending on his emotions. Like in the Special at the beach when he saw Merlin and in his fight against Estarossa. That's what he meant, he was too excited to contain that heat and he said Rhitta would not be enough to contain everything either. Against Gowther, his emotions are what transformed him as well but since it was night his PL was not rising.

Escanor can't not emit heat, it's inevitable, but Rhitta stores that heat so that he can release it after as attack, he can also use his Magic on it(probably the weapon allowing him do that) and it's a mighty weapon fitting for a man of his build. Sacred Treasures have been made to support the Sins in battle and suit them, they are in no way holding them back. Escanor without Rhitta would have less time to help his companions because Rhitta would not be here to store the heat.

Who ever said Rhitta suppresses his power's just making up excuses at this point, it clearly states in the manga it takes in all the heat and stores it

Mel base form is literally comparable to Estarossa, he overpowered Derieri who has the strength level of 48k in base form without even trying, that speaks for itself

Can't believe this is still being discussed lmao

It depends on how much it boosts him. At most I can't see Meliodas going past 80K total. Assuming that his strength is the stat that gets most impacted it would probably be at 60K which still isn't that much higher than Estarossa's strength. Escanor's power drastically surges and then will continue to increase for a half hour before finally surging again probably. Meliodas is tough but I can't see him going past an Escanor surge followed by a full half hour of increasing power and then followed by another possible surge at noon.

If you take away from something that is obviously going to decrease the amount that is available, so technically Rhitta does surpress his power. Unless of course you're suggesting that the laws of subtraction don't apply in Nanatsu...

I'm concerned about Diane's power up, a simple dance isn't enough at all to beat Drole

Like King's weak from being away for the Fairy King forest for so many years and hasn't matured yet so he's fine

It's just Diane, how's she going to beat Drole without is being an asspull using a fucking dance ? She hasn't had any training either too

Lol stop, Rhitta stores heat so he doesn't burn his surroundings, his power is still increasing, he's still gaining mass etc

Demonspeed already debunked your argument

And as his power increases Rhitta takes more of it until it becomes full. Escanor will still rise, but his power will still be surpressed to a degree because Rhitta takes it away and stores it. And what argument did demonspeed debunk? And whose to say he did? You? That doesn't make any sense.
Escanor at noon =100K (just for the sake of numbers) Rhitta takes away 10K for example
100K - 10K=90,000. There's the math as to how Rhitta suppresses his power. Also there's still the laws of conversation of mass. Escanor absorbed power doesn't just disappear or get replaced. That's still power that he could have in his system had Rhitta not taken it

10K is still a huge difference though. I don't think Estarossa would be able to keep up with that. And we have seen Meliodas easily toy with Derrierie despite her 48K(a difference of 6K between her and Estarossa). Against Dolor and Gloxinia, Meliodas must have somehow reached the 50 or 60K with his mark when he had a PL of 32500 without it, and now this mark is even more powerful. I can't imagine a scenario with Estarossa keeping up with him even for an instant.
