Straighten up ending when

That's actually the reason why the final volume of a series sells more than the regular volumes. This is even the case with series like naruto which went well past a million when the regular volumes sold in the 800k to one million range. If you look back through the data, naruto usuallu dropped off the chart around 900k. Its also a thing that at least 40% of jump's readership just glances through the magazine when new chapters come out. They'll be in the convenience store or places like that and will read it right there after they buy it. Theyll then probably throw it out outside the store or leave it in the subway. They'll read the stories in depth in the volume releases. Many people wait for a series to end to complete the collection. I don't know if Japanese readers have this habit, but maybe they also buy the series after it ended if they follows the magazine and don't really need the volumes immediately. There are a lot of hypothesis, but in short, people liked the series and decided to buy or complete the collection after it ended.
A sheer 657 copies difference between taizai and heroaca.....
Well I havent necessarily done that, but i can see why the last volume sells more. If it's a series I like but it's super long (like Naruto) i might buy the first volume, a few others with good arcs and then the last. I own Naruto 1-10, about 5 random volumes, the last volume and the Gaiden volume. That's actually the reason why the final volume of a series sells more than the regular volumes. All of the Bleach volumes for this year, 71-74, which includes the last volume, are already included in this year, because the sales period for these rankings is from November 23, 2015 to November 20, 2016. So Bleach won't publish any volumen next year, so, obviously, won't appear in the list. And the last volume, 74, indeed increased slightly the volume sales in comparison with its other volumes this year, 71, 72, 73, in the same time period.Bleach did 4-5 spots better than last year but it'll be interesting how it does next year with that controversial ending.
