On a side note.. is there a reason why Juvia isn't in this rate? Imo she is pretty decent, after all we got characters like Elfman and cana in this rate too.

I just don't know what it is with Jacob. It feels like everyone is ignoring Jacob's potency due to him not being a "likable character" to some. Maybe it's because he doesn't look dangerous? Because his character is clumsy? It's nonsense anyway, because this man is far from being lower tier Spriggan.

This man possesses not one, but two types of hax magic of insane quality. Stealth is already enough, but Transport really makes it overkill. This man is unbelievably powerful, guys. If it wasn't for his intelligence, this man deserved a top 10 place if you ask me.

There are three things Jacob can do with his primary magic: erase his own presence, see things that are invisible for others and use invisible weapons. The first-mentioned is obviously its best feat. The perfect assassination magic indeed.

I guess he has a really stupid weakness, but his two haxxes are still ridiculously OP, had Lucy not been there he would have single-handedly won the war.

Not to mention the fact that he gave (an admittedly exhausted) Mira a great fight whilst having his eyes closed. On the other hand, Ajeel lost to Elfman and Lisanna.

Meh, can't say I agree with this but it is what it is.

I agree @BluePegasus, Jacob should have definitely been in the top 10. SMH again this is a fraud. Stealth + Transport combo is one of deadliest combinations of hax in the manga.

Jacob, a little too early it should be some less Hacky Spriggans go out before him ( And some from the Ishgar ) Hax are hard to overcome and since we don't ( Or shouldn't ) include typical unexplained bullshit that we have been fed in the series sometimes ( many ) he should definitely be Higher despite someone liking on his character or how his fights was drawed..

Haha, I'm actually surprised that I didn't give him lowest score. Thought a 5 would be good enough...

Also, am I the only one who thinks Ajeel is stronger than Jacob? Everyone seems to put Ajeel at the bottom, but I couldn't disagree more. His feats at the beginning of the arc were pretty solid (to the point it would take a lot to undermine him). In fact, his fight against Erza was the only fight in the whole arc that made the Spriggans seem like a threat...

As for Ajeel vs. Elfman & Lisanna, I honestly wouldn't put too much emphasis on it (because it was off-paneled). Who knows what happened. Did Ajeel use any spells? Was he completely countered? When Crime Sorcière got stomped by August, everyone thought they were fodder. But it turned out that they were at a complete disadvantage. Same with Larcade when he went up against Sting.

Anyways, I'm curious as to what Ajeel's lowest score will be. I doubt it will be me...

Just opened this thread and I see TO Sherria is still in right? I think she is a bit overrated imho. Her TO-powered Ama no Murakumo couldn't kill Chronos. Her wounds didn't regenerate when she was on TO mode.

While I do think Ajeel should have gone out before Jacob, let's not downplay him: his AoE is monstrous. With little effort, Ajeel can conjure huge waves of desiccating sand which turn his victims into mere husks. On top of this, he can turn into sand and is somehow able to communicate with it, as seen when he located Makarov and team Natsu during their escape. He further demonstrated his power in his fight against Erza, where he swallowed up the whole of Magnolia in his Sand World and almost killed her. With the above being said, I do wish I'd scored him somewhat lower, as his feats later on in the arc were undeniably disappointing, though I guess that goes for all of the Spriggans...


BEST SPELL

Sands of Death

What's not to love about this spell? I mean, Ajeel can call a massive, desiccating wave of sand in on a whim, and the sheer scale of it even dwarfs Titan Makarov. I was tempted to pick Sand World instead of Sands of Death due to the utility it gives Ajeel, but rule of cool factor made me give it to Sands of Death. The visual is just awesome.

Ajeel vs Erza

Being serious, this was one of the better fights of the Alvarez arc IMO. Ajeel really showed of the sheer power a Spriggan has, being able to affect a whole city with one spell, and being able to put Erza on the ropes. You can argue that Erza was nerfed pretty badly for some of the fight due to Requip not working properly thanks to Marin, but Ajeel was also somewhat restricted due to being in the air. Despite this, both Erza and Ajeel put in good performances and Ajeel didn't even get solo'd, only losing because Erza was saved by Bisca firing the Jupiter Cannon (though being honest, it should have hit Erza too). All in all, it was an entertaining fight that gave the Spriggans more hype.
